Staying at the Roosevelt Inn is a great way to tour the Hyde Park area. It is centrally located to many of the local highlights. The hotel management is friendly, accommodating and has reasonable rates. Our room was comfortable and clean. We would definitely stay there again.

How can such a little place make such a big impression? The inn keeper was wonderful, we are dog people and she let us meet her pet who was very friendly, the rooms were very clean, the view out our back window was memorable - a doe and two fawns entertained us one evening and so did the fire flies.... Thank you for the lovely review! Hyde Park is a rural suburban town and you do see some wildlife now and then, in addition to our house pet :>) We love and spoil our little (big) Corgi but I wanted to clarify for those reading the reviews that we do NOT allow pets at the Roosevelt Inn. Our Corgi is... More

We have frequently travelled to the Hudson River Valley over the years and stayed in many lovely places. We consider Roosevelt Inn a great little find. The owner was very friendly, welcoming and helpful. She offered great suggestions in terms of restaurant recommendations, places to go, things to do, etc. The rooms and the propery was extremely clean, well cared... More

We decided to explore sites along the Hudson. This was a lovely, convenient, well-priced place to stay. It clearly had its start years ago but that was part of its charm. While I'm not a big bagel fan, theirs were excellent. A bagel with peanut butter kept me happy until it was time for lunch. The coffee was strong, rich,... More

Very clean and updated. Love the little cafe on site where one can get tea, coffee, water and make popcorn 24/7. Friendly staff. Would definitely go back. Great for FDR sites and other historic sites.

Thank you for your review, Debbi. We're glad you had a fun visit. We hope to see you again. -Karen FYI--The motel does have a second floor where the Deluxe King and Queen rooms are located. We do not have an elevator; there are 14 steps. The Deluxe 2 Doubles are on the ground floor. More

Janet and I visited Hyde Park, NY on our way to New England. We stayed two nights at the Inn and thoroughly enjoyed it. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and reasonably priced. the breakfasts were very nice with choices of cereals, fruit and great donuts and bagels. Nothing negative to say about this place. It was clean, the staff was friendly, the breakfast/snack room was well supplied and generous, all was fine. No, it's not a fancy resort but these days, just finding an independent doing all the basic things right in a reasonably priced motel is getting more and more rare, so this was a real... More

Thank you for your review. We are happy you enjoyed your stay and liked our smaller Rustic room. It is a lower cost alternative to a Deluxe room. Yet, it has its own unique charm with the knotty pine walls but also a modern flatscreen TV and mini fridge. Hope you will come to see us again. -Karen More

This motel is the old fashioned type one might skip when looking for a night's rest but, it was clean, neat, extremely affordable and they have a room where a continental breakfast is included. In addition, one may get coffee or popcorn from the room anytime day or night. It was a very pleasant experience. The staff was nice, too.

We chose this motel based on the tripadvisor reviews and on the price. We were not disappointed; very clean and renovated rooms, comfy beds, plenty of space, great location for historic sites. The free breakfast is served in an immaculate "coffee shop". The atmosphere of the motel and the town is fun and relaxed, family-oriented.

I really can't add a lot to the previous reviews except that I want to give a 5 star rating too! And just add a couple of my own comments. Thank you for that thorough review! Our Deluxe rooms have had some recent updates-- furnishing, electrics and lighting-- glad you noticed. It helps that we have a 'winter break' each year as well where all rooms are offline and we can take each one through a maintenance checklist and refresher (paint, shampooing, etc.). We are happy you enjoyed your stay... More
