The Roosevelt Inn is really your only choice in Hyde Park, NY. The town is small with a lot of businesses that haven't been updated and many of the hotel/motel business reviews were undesirable in my opinion. The Rosevelt Inn was clean, quiet, and comfortable. We slept with the windows open and felt safe and enjoyed the silence, even though... More

Very pleasant, quiet at night, with a reasonable continental breakfast. Close to lots of Hudson Valley stuff like mansions, CIA, etc. Too bad the motel's coffee shop isn't open anymore -- it looked like a fun place to eat.

We enjoyed our stay at the Roosevelt Inn. It was quiet and we did not hear any road noise except for an ambulance one afternoon. This is an older motel that has been beautifully maintained and we enjoyed the feeling of a country inn. The room was clean and we had all the comforts we needed. The breakfast was well-stocked... After staying at way too many cookie cutter chain motels to count we really enjoyed the quaint clean motel. The room was clean and comfortable with everything we needed. There was a large shelf in the bathroom to put all your "stuff" that you don't find in large chains. The diner style room featured the self serve continental breakfast was... More

Thank you for your kind review. Based on your description, it sounds like you were in our original Rustic room. These smaller rooms have the original knotty pine walls and 50's tile in the bathrooms. They also have the LED flatscreen TVs and wireless access. A little old, a little new-- but definitely not cookie cutter. :>) More

Winding our way through the Hudson Valley, we reserved several nights at this very clean, modest but comfortably appointed motel that behaves more like a friendly inn. Situated close to the historic attractions, most of the rooms are well back off Rte 9 so that noise is not an issue. Generous continental breakfast included as are free parking and friendly,... More

We chose the Roosevelt Inn for our three night stay in Hyde Park and were not disappointed. You may be tempted to pass this inn over for something more "modern" down the road, however I believe you will never know what you missed. Motor inn's of the past offered quick entry to your room a few steps from your car... More

Thank you for your kind (and thorough!) review. We are in the midst of our busiest season (leaf peepers!) and we try to stay on top of the things that mean the most to visitors-- comfortable, clean lodging and a cheery simple breakfast. Thanks again and we hope to see you your next visit! -Karen More

From the photos this motel looks like a motor lodge my parents would have stopped at in the 1960s. Knowing there are many motor lodges out there that haven't been updated since the 1960s, I was pleasantly surprised to find a modern, newly updated (new carpet, sinks, counters) and very clean room. The little coffee shop with a continental breakfast... More

Clean, comfortable rooms and very convenient for the nearby sights. The coffee shop is a lovely touch and was much appreciated. The only thing that has stopped me from giving this place full marks is the number of rules posted everywhere. "Do NOT do this, Do NOT do that" signs everywhere you look do not create a particularly warm atmosphere,... More

This is an ambivalent moment for me as manager and owner. As you have noted, we need to post some rules so as to maintain the condition of the property. More often than not, our signage is completely unread. The caps are merely to grab attention so the signs will be noticed. I do thank you for bringing this to... More

Four friends booked two rooms here for 2 nights while visiting the FDR Museum and area attractions. We had two comfortable beds in each room along with a small refrigerator to keep bottled water/soda. The bathroom was small, but clean and our room had another sink and large vanity at the back of the room. We thought maybe before their... More

Thank you for your review. We try to anticipate what most people would like in the rooms and coffee shop. As a motel, we cannot always afford to have the most expensive items but we hope to provide the little niceties most would appreciate-- night lights, extra outlets, free water/popcorn/hot chocolate, etc. As for your forgotten clothes-- I am so... These older motels are such a reminder of travel days gone by. This one is very clean and lovingly cared for. The café provided all we needed for breakfast, plus beverages when ever we had a notion to get them. The location to Hyde Park destinations is perfect. On a busy summer day, road noise may be a problem.

Thank you for your review. We are glad you had a nice time. As for road noise, fortunately, our property benefits from a good location in that the road going through town may be busy during the day... it is very quiet at night. This is true Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter. As you can see here, we have many... More
