Very large rooms with plenty of elbow space. Excellent bed and bedding. Everything in the room looked new, including the carpet. High grade furniture. Heat and air unit first class. Microwave and frig in separate area away from main living area. Had a King Room with a sofa and coffee table. Bathroom was very good. The room was quiet. Wireless... more

We've stayed here several times over the last few years, but this will probably be our last stay. It seems to have gone downhill somewhat - the room was musty-smelling, the sink wouldn't drain properly, the internet access was extremely slow. The duvet was SO heavy it was hard to get comfortable in what was otherwise a good bed. And... more

We stayed here for one night on our way to our final desination. I would guess this property is barely meeting the HI Express standards. The building has obviously been renovated and is run down in some areas. The breakfast was ok, except the person monitoring the breakfast had her three small children running around while she took care of... more

We stayed here to break up a trip between Flagstaff, AZ and Durango, CO for one night (also to drive a great stretch of Route 66 - me!). We like HI Express hotels as they are always a good standard. This one is no different, clean and modern rooms, good pool and friendly staff. The breakfast was disappointing however. It... more

We stayed here for one night while sightseeing in the area. Booked through AAA. I asked for and received a better rate when we checked in and saved about $12. Location: Conveniently close to highway I-40 and in the major retail strip area of Grants. Grants is not a tourist destination you would spend a lot of time in but... more

Perhaps a little more expensive than other area hotels, but worth every penny spent. No nasty bedspreads or blankets here - just wonderfully clean white sheets wrapped around a down comforter, atop a pillowtop mattress with loads of pillows of different firmnesses. Like sleeping on a cloud! Clean, beautifully decorated rooms with all of the amenities you'd expect in a... more

We stayed here for 2 nights whilst we visited the Acoma Pueblo and El Morro/El Malpais region. Our room was large, clean and comfortable with king size bed and sitting area. There was a good choice for breakfast and complimentary warm, fresh cookies were provided in the afternoons. There was a good-size swimming pool and also laundry facilities. It was easy to... more

Arriving in Grants, New Mexico is a literally surreal experience. Where else in the Lower 48 States does one drive through miles and miles of lava fields?! Yes, New Mexico's unique volcanic past is displayed in thousands of acres on either side of I-40. The Holiday Inn Express is a genuine surprise. Large, spacious, well-appointed rooms - ours had a... more
