If you have a low-budget, are adventurous and/or enjoy patronizing Route 66 establishments, then this may be the motel for you. This is a 1950's era motor inn that allows you to park right in front of your room. A place that looks much better when you pull in after dark than it does when you awaken the next morning,... More

I would highly recommend the sands for anyone hiking the cdt. Great rates with hiker discount, convenient location, friendly helpful staff, clean and comfortable rooms with good wifi. Also why stay at a boring chain motel when you can stay somewhere unique with character

If your idea of a good place to stay for the night involves a key card, hallway and a plain, boring room that could be just about anywhere, this is not the place for you. If you're looking for an inexpensive, clean place to stay that has a little character, you might enjoy yourself here for the night! This is... More

Room was very clean. Shower had hot water. When I asked for help from the office they responded promptly. Internet worked well. Do not let the look from the outside be a distraction as you will fine comfortable accommodations inside. Would stay here again.

Had a great stay in the Elvis Room (where Elvis stayed after marrying Priscilla). Wonderful service, caring owners. Continental Divide Trail hiker friendly. Good WiFi, mini breakfast provided. Route 66 historical stop.

Excellent value for money at this motel. Friendly, helpful people running the motel, very comfortable rooms and beds plus the room smelled great and was clean. Bonus for the low rates was having a coffee pot, wifi and breakfast included. Good food available for an evening meal nearby capped this one off nicely.

While it may not look like much on the outside, the rooms are clean and functional and the service is superb. I will stay again if I am in the area. There needs to be more words so I am typing until it says I have type 200 characters this is a dumb feature.

Myself and my friends stayed here for a night whilst travelling down Route 66. We had planned to stay in Albuquerque but found ourselves further down the road, and at sunset we rolled into Grants and found this motel. It was cheap, clean and comfortable and served it's purpose - we stayed there overnight and were there for maybe 12... More

Great little piece of history for the price. We are traveling cross country with a large group, and originally planned on stopping in Albuquerque. We stopped for gas and realized we were really close to Grant and decided to detour. The gentleman at the counter was accommodating, friendly and helpful. The rooms were bigger than we were expecting (a plus),... More
