I have stayed here several times--so sad to see it go! Where else could you sit at your breakfast table and look out over the battlefield. You couldn't find a more friendly staff and the rooms were always super clean. Liked the numbered parking in front of guest room door. I was last here in cold November 2014--took advantage of... Lee's Headquarters is located right in the center of what was the first day of the Battle of Gettysburg - July 1st, 1863. The Lutheran Seminary is visible just across the road. Whenever I visit Gettysburg, I try to stay here if there are vacancies. There is a museum attached to the hotel; there are no shortage of those in... More

We stayed on the evening of December 29th, one of the last nights before the inn was closed (the 31st was the last night for guests.) Staff was top notch and we certainly got our fill of the free hot cocoa in the reception area. We had a few issues. For instance, the door didn't latch properly and the carpets... More

Contrary to another review, the buildings have yet to be torn down. How do I know this? We stayed there last night. It's last night in operation. We among a number of others were the last guests to stay at this incredible establishment, on New Years Eve. My wife and I stayed here numerous times in the last fifteen years.... More

This hotel was bought up and torn down. It was part of the 1st days battle and was bought to put the land back the way it was in 1863. The Appilachian Brewing Company was torn down to it was a nice hotel to stay in, but it no longer is there or it will be removed by 2015

This place was fantastic. Views to die for, delicious, free, hot breakfast. Clean, sparkling clean, amazingly clean rooms. Quaint, beautiful, cozy, and being torn down at the end of the year. Heartbroken!!!!!! This place made our trip to Gettysburg unique and perfect. A real shame to be saying goodbye to it.

I was persuaded to book this hotel by my children. They pointed out that it is closing in January and this was our last chance to stay in the hotel. I looked at the pictures online and it seemed okay, but not amazing. Wow -- this hotel is the nicest Quality Inn I have ever visited and I have their... More

We have been staying here for almost 15 years, since we started visiting the battlefield. Very sad that this hotel is closing on December 31st, as it has been purchased by the Civil War Trust. It will be torn down in 2015. A great location - farewell.

We stayed in a room off by ourselves. Room was spacious and clean. We stayed in the same room about 2 years ago. The historical building was closed at the time. They will be tearing down this motel very soon. The breakfast was good and the staff were helpful and friendly. The only negative thing was when the heater kicked... More

My family has been visiting Gettysburg annually for over 15 years and almost every time we have stayed at General Lee's Headquarters. We love the decor of the rooms, the friendliness of the staff, everything about it. When we heard they were closing because they had been bought by the National Park Service, we had mixed emotions. My husband is... More
