This was my first stay at The Doubleday Inn, but I can guarantee it will not be my last. I travel extensively for work and due to a conflicting schedule and late flights I arrived around 4PM and was greeted by the male owner of the Inn. He was very nice and welcoming. The room was perfect for what I... More

Upon booking the Doubleday Inn I was planning a romantic getaway the my fiance and I could enjoy a relaxing weekend and take in the history of the area. Todd and Christine made it real like we were visiting old friends. The Inn was warm and inviting, the room was comfortable and spacious, and an amazing breakfast was prepared by... More

We have stayed here about 20 times, in many different rooms, over the last 8 years, and have always enjoyed the different rooms although our favotite is the Lee Room. Christine and Todd along with the Golden retreiver Mollie are always very gracious and fun to be around. The rooms are always neat and clean, and we really appreciate the... More

There were so many problems with this place, I hardly know where to start. First: the room. Our room was in the attic, as expected, but we didn't know until we arrived that it (1) was accessible only through side door inside a bathroom (2) then up a very steep flight of narrow and winding stairs and (3) there was... The Doubleday Inn is a beautiful B & B located on the battlefield. This is a wonderful spot to watch the sunrise in the morning over the town and the sunset over the battlefield. The home is warm and cozy; the living room is a great place to relax and enjoy a beverage and browse through the extensive book collection.... More

A beautiful B & B. The setting is serene and the views are magnificent. The staff is friendly and they make you feel like you are a guest in a warm, welcoming home. Breakfast in the dining room was a treat. Be aware though, if you are traveling with young children, looking for nightlife, or a pool--this is not the place... More

When visiting Gettysburg without kids, we like to stay at the Doubleday. Beautiful home and wonderful views. The hosts are helpful with out being obtrusive. Love to stay right on the battlefield. Especially seeing the eternal flame when the sun goes down and night falls on the battlefield.

This is a beautiful B&B. I would recommend this place to everyone. Todd was a great host. Being we wanted to walk to town and around the Battlefield, Todd told us a couple of shortcuts to the town. The view of the battlefield was such a plus every morning while having coffee. Breakfast was great!! Thank you to all the... More

Todd was a gracious host. Made sure we had everything we needed to be comfortable during our stay. The back yard is perfect and a great place to enjoy the views of the battlefield. Breakfast was delicious! We are sorry we didn't meet Christine. Enjoyed having Molly around. Thanks for a great stay!

I'd actually stayed at the Doubleday Inn many years previous under different ownership, and found it satisfactory. Now having stayed with Todd & Christine in recent years, it's amazing how all the renovations and their personal touches have elevated the property to excellence. There is no question that if you are a serious student of the battle or a couple... More
