What a wonderful way to spend parent's weekend Oct 2016. The inn is old and quirky but that's expected. More importantly it was clean and comfortable. Todd and Christine were friendly and charming. My husband especially liked talking history with Todd. The breakfasts were amazing. I especially liked the baked french toast casserole with fresh fruit. YUM. We tried to... More

I can't say enough good things about this place. It's a gem, right on the battlefield, a beautiful old house that's well-maintained by a terrific couple. The owners are the nicest, most interesting people. The breakfasts were incredible, very tasty and fresh, and a good variety, with vegetarian options. If you want a memorable stay in an unforgettable setting, I... More

This is a well loved historic building, so it's rather quaint and creaky but that's all part of the charm. Don't stay here if you want a sterile, generic hotel. Do stay here if you want character, knowledgable hosts and views across the battlefields. Todd lent us their CD for the auto tour, and no doubt much more detailed advice... More

Can't tell you how wonderful this place is for a nice little stay! Greeted immediately, the owners made us feel right at home. Full of information about the battlefield, which he and my husband talked about, a lot, Todd made sure we had all we needed including made arrangements for a private tour of the battlefield. If you are ever... More

We would give this B&B a 3 1/2 rating if possible. My wife and I stayed for a weekend to celebrate her birthday in late October. The property is in a wonderful location directly on the battlefield and that was a huge draw for us. The interior is very clean and Todd and Christine were pleasant and welcoming. We stayed... More

This was our first time at the Doubleday. My husband and I really enjoyed our two night stay. The Inn is very cozy, clean and comfortable. Outstanding views to look at. You are right on the battlefield, so if you enjoy a peaceful, take in the sights and smells kind of walk, you'll enjoy this. Todd and Christine have this... More

My wife and I have been to G-burg many times before; however, this was our first time at the Doubleday Inn. We were attending a Civil War Barn Dance in period garb and only needed a room for one night (not the two night minimum required by most of the other local establishments); which, is how we ended up at... We stayed here in late March of 1999 along with our daughter who was 10 at the time. My husband and daughter had fallen asleep already, it was probably about 11 pm, totally quiet throughout the house, and I heard someone begin climbing up the stairs. There was another room across the hall from ours, so I assumed he was... More

Easy to find, great location and very clean. Breakfasts were wonderful. Innkeepers friendly and very knowledgeable about the area and the Battle. When finding out we had a relative that fought there he knew about it as it was right down the road from the B&B. He allowed us to read his first edition book on that particular part of... More

This lovely little B&B is the only one set on the actual battlefield and this makes it very special. The owners, Tod and Christine, are passionate about the area and very knowledgeable about the Civil War. This makes the stay even more enjoyable. We had a view of the battlefield from our room. Our room was cosy and very comfortable.... More
