Unbelievably enjoyable total experience. A stay at the Mary-Penn is like visiting and eating with lifelong friends, as well as sleeping in a Museum of mid-nineteenth century artifacts. We were married there on our second visit, and just spent our first Anniversary there. We feel like we've known Bea and Dave since childhood.

It is difficult to describe the Mary Penn Bed & Breakfast in words. This historic home is beautiful. Every room I visited, including the basement, was clean, comfortable, and well-decorated. The land around the B&B, including a gazebo out back and a stream running by the house, is stunning. The owners, Bea and David, are two of the nicest people... More

As other reviewers have stated, this is it. Situated almost a mile down a gravel road, the beautiful location just oozes charm and relaxation. It is a fabulous old house, with a wonderful history, and the most warm, loving hospitality received from Bea. We were offered complimentary wine, cheese and crackers each evening (our choice of red or white), cookies... More

We enjoyed our stay at the B&B run by Ms Bea. She made us at home and shared not only the home but the Tale of the house. Ms Bea provided us with various wines and homemade treats during the evening followed by a sumptuous breakfast in the morning. We enjoyed the visit so much that we felt we were... More

I could not possibly describe our stay at the Mary-Penn BnB in one word and I know that my review will not do this charming, historic, and beautiful place justice, nor the outstanding hospitality that we received during our stay, but I will do my best to give it the glory that it deserves! This place is simply unbelievable! I... More

I'm ashamed to admit that I stumbled upon this b&b purely by accident. I wanted to surprise my husband with a trip to Gettysburg for the 150th anniversary. I called every b&b, hotel, motel, you name it in town and there were no vacancies because the re-enactment in town drew in hundreds and thousands of visitors. I called the Mary... More

This B&B is about twenty minutes from Gettysburg, located on the Mason-Dixon line so that some rooms are in Pennsylvania, others in Maryland. The owners have done an amazing restoration of the 1740 property, and will give you all the history you're up for. The basement is restored to look like an original era room, with a tribute to the... We are yearly visitors to Gettysburg and this was our third stay at The Mary-Penn B&B. We love coming here during the winter when there is snow on the ground and the Battlefield Parks are quiet and tranquil and without crowds. The Mary-Penn has become our "home away from home" in the area and Bea and Dave Waybright have not... More

The house was built in 1743, a civil war historical building, and rests on the Mason-Dixon line with a portion of the house in Maryland and the other portion in Pennsylvania. We were absolutely fascinated at the idea of sleeping in Maryland and using the 'facilities' in Pennsylvania-I would bet there is no other place where you can experience this.... More

We stayed at the Mary-Penn B&B for only one night. It is an amazing place and the Mason-Dixon line runs right through the house! One side is in Pennsylvania and one side is in Maryland. The property is gorgeous and beautifully maintained. Bea, the owner and hostess, is warm and friendly. Greeting with hospitality, history lessons and service galore. The... More
