We were treated wonderful. Everything was perfect in every detail. Looking forward to returning soon. The ghost talk was alot of fun and scared the heck out of me.

My wife and I have stayed at the Lightner Farmhouse many times, and this review is long overdue. Our Innkeepers, Dennis and Eileen Hoover, have always treated us as family members, exceeding all of our expectations. Our stays always include great food, great service and hospitality unmatched in the industry. What we enjoy most of all is the great conversations, and a... More

This stately, antebellum farmhouse was built just a couple years prior to the Civil War and was used as a Union division headquarters and field hospital. It is only minutes from all that Gettysburg has to offer and secluded enough to be quiet and peaceful. The staff is charming and can provide a wide range of advice and assistance with... More

Wow, What can we say! From the moment we arrived Eileen and Dennis made us feel right at home. The service was great. It was just out of town enough to enjoy the quiet of the country and just close enough that all Gettysburg activities were just minutes away. The cottage was more then we could have hoped for, from... More

We've stayed at the Lightner Farmhouse many times, and are welcomed by the gracious innkeepers like old friends. The rooms are comfortable, the amenities are plentiful from a beverage buffet and homemade cookies that's always available, wonderful breakfasts in a cheerful, airy room with a fireplace; a porch overlooking beautifully landscaped grounds to relax on with a good book; and... We took our adult son to Gettysburg for a four day history adventure and the Lightner Farmhouse B&B turned into one of the special parts of the visit. Dennis and Eileen were exceptional in their hospitality, sincerity and warmth. Our son had never stayed at a B&B and although we travel a great deal, have also had limited experience in... More

Our group of eight planned this weekend trip to Gettysburg and when one couple, due to illness, cancelled two days before, the owners replaced the reservation within ten minutes, This was the kind of service that we received from the helpful and friendly owners Eileen and Dennis. After arriving, you will be given a short tour of the Inn. This... More

The owner was INCREDIBLY rude to us and our family. My wife and I got married in Gettysburg and stayed at the Lightner that weekend. My father, two sisters and there husbands also stayed there. Between us we occupied 3 rooms - literally half of the inn. After the wedding we had drinks in the common room with some other... More

The group requested a small get together at 7 PM which we gave permission for. Instead they brought in guests who were not staying at the Inn and their gathering ended at 3 AM. Their behavior was not consistent with the way we operate our Inn and they are not welcome to return to our Inn. We promote a quiet,... More

We stayed at the lightner farmhouse while visiting relatives in the area as a little getaway during out visit. We LOVED the place. We stayed in the cottage and although it is a little bit pricier it was totally worth it. Eileen and Dennis are amazing. They give you privacy if you want it and they are available if you... More

This was our first time ever staying at a bed and breakfast and although it was a tad bit more to stay there than an cheap hotel room, it was 100% worth it and more!!!! The charm of the old house enhanced our experience. The staff was wonderful and so helpful. If you are out touring the battlegrounds all day... More
