My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the Farnsworth Inn. Was a bit disappointed that we did not experience any ghostly activity especially while staying in the Sarah Black room. The staff was courteous.

My boyfriend and I spent just over $300.00 to sleep with COCKROACHES (9/30/05 to 10/2/05)!!! Our friends asked us over 6 months to go along to the Farnsworth House with them. This was our first and LAST experience there! Our friends stayed in the Shultz room where they encountered a cockroach crawing over one of their toothbrushes in the bathroom!!... More

I bought my mother a Farnsworth gift certificate for a Christmas present last year - with some serious misgivings after seeing the mixed reviews on various travel Web sites. My mom stayed in the Schultz room in the main house, while my boyfriend and I stayed in the Belle Boyd room off of the tavern (Note: If you're staying in... More

My husband and I stayed at the Farnsworth House on our last night in Gettyburg. I stopped over to the bookstore to see about tickets for their Mourning theater around 1pm and the gentleman working there informed me I could check into my room even though it was not 3o'clock their regular check in time. He took me up to... More

I have just returned from my first visit to Gettysburg. On my second night my daughter and I walked to the Farnsworth house. We ate outside in the "Garden" area. This atmosphere reminded me of the Colonial Williamsburg taverns. This was fine until the older couple seated right next to us decided to light-up after their plates were cleared. I... More

We didn't stay at the Inn, but we did try the Mourning Theatre. We were very disappointed in the performance. I was expecting something more theatric. The "storyteller" seemed to be new, he forgot lines occasionally and one of the obviously more experienced guides was in the back of the room observing. The storyteller was supposed to be in character... More

We stayed Apr 11,2005. The bookstore worker was not helpful when checking us in. The room was small with only one chair and the bed to sit on - no table. The bathroom was huge and beautiful, but there was no door!! They had a curtain to pull across the doorway. The mattress was horribly uncomfortable - sagging in the... More

Last summer(2004) we visited Gettysburg and tried to get a bite to eat for lunch at the Farnsworth House Inn. We went downstairs to the tavern and were ignored. We went to the bar and were treated pretty badly by an indifferent bartender. Another couple next to us had been there for 10 minutes and finally left when it became... More

My husband and I stayed in the Jennie Wade room in October 2003 we loved it. I am an extreme ghost fanatic and couldn't wait to stay in the haunted room but I had no expectations of seeing or hearing anything. But boy was I wrong. I came up with the idea of placing a tape recorder next to the... More

WOW! My daughter (16) and I stayed at the Farnsworth, and LOVED IT. It was everything we expected, and more. I found the food and the service to be excellent. It was fun to chat with other house guests at meal times, to share our "haunting" experiences. We stayed there for 4 nights. The resident ghosts were delightful. I plan... More
