Just to set the record straight: Rittenhouse is a great hotel. I've stayed there 2x a year for past 4 years. Service is amazing--helpful and even innovative. Front desk staff is friendly and intelligent (they've helped us with various forgotten items and odd requests). Rooms are lovely--configured in an "L" so sofa is not in line with bed and it... more

TO start off, I NEVER write on trip advisor, I use this website to make my decisions on where to stay, So by all the reviews I chose to stay here. The place was so bad I had to write. Management here is horrible!!!, they do not know how to handle situations! hallways smell and look like their from the... more

We just came back from 3 days in Philadelphia over Memorial Day weekend and stayed here. I spent a summer in Philadelphia 12 years ago and had always wanted to come back and stay here. Wow. This hotel did not disappoint. I knew beforehand that it was located in the best area of Philadelphia. It is right on Rittenhouse Square... more

Starting at the driveway with the valet who opens your car door, introduces himself and addresses you by your last name, you know that you are at a hotel that thinks about customer care. The rooms in the hotel (while a bit pricey) are quite ample for both solo travelers and families. The bathrooms with separate bath and shower areas... more

My boyfriend and I recently met in Philadelphia for a night, and while looking for a hotel he found a great rate of $199 at the Rittenhouse. The location is ideal, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the room was very spacious, with a huge and beautiful bathrooom. If you want a tub in your bathroom ask--not all rooms... more

My husband & I wanted a quick overnight trip with some spa pampering. We have stayed at the Ritz in Philly before, but we wanted somewhere new. The Ritz was offering $189/nt, so my husband called the Rittenhouse & was able to negotiate a rate of $199. The hotel room was beautiful, large & clean. The TV is placed in... more

We frequently stay at the Rittenhouse to visit family. We are never disappointed. The rooms are lovely, and extremely comfortable. They feature thermostats that actually function, adequate lighting and comfortable seating, 3 items that we often find missing from even luxury hotel rooms. Service is always excellent and the location is perfect. All around a great place. more

Because of bad weather, we had to unexpectedly spend the night in Philly. Our corporate travel made the reservation. Nice hotel, little under staffed for a five star accommodation. Gary had to do everything himself at reception in the evening. Room was large, clean, and nice bathroom. Strange configuration where you can't watch tv from bed. I suppose in a... more

I stayed at the rittenhouse for 3 nights in October and it felt like home. The hotel has that old world charm with all the new ammenities a current traveler would want: flat screen tvs, high speed internet, etc. The strawberries and champagne were a plus! The staff was so friendly too. I didn't want to leave. more

AAA is being bribed to continue issuing the five star rating to this tired hotel! The rooms are like something out of the set of Dynasty, in desperate need of updating. Service was poor. Housekeeping did not have our room back to us until well past 4:00PM. The spa is dingy and univiting, with noisy treatment rooms and locker rooms... more
