This past week I enjoy a wonderful experience in my hometown Philadelphia. Me and my wife signed up to go on a historic pub crawl through Old City’s taverns. We had a colonial host who shared historical facts about the traditions of drinking and lead guests in Colonial drinking songs and toasts. We stopped at four places including historical City... more

Great Location I was close to everything, like the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. "Really Cool" bar and restaurant downstairs. And I must say the staff was helpful with directions and generally very friendly. I would recommend it if you are looking to hang out in Philadelphia for a few days. more

Well after reading all the negative reviews I was preparing myself for a horrible experience but only needing a place to sleep I decided to book the room and take my chances. No front desk but most bed and breakfast don't have them anyway, checked in at that bar. The man at the bar was very friendly and helpful. Walking... more

Arrived late afternoon, to be greeted by a grumpy tattooed barman, who muttered his first - and last - words to us. Not a warm welcome at all. The hotel absolutely stinks. Kind of damp/boilled cabbage/rotting trash smell. Our room was in keeping with the whole of the hotel - filthy!! Was unable to get a room elsewhere, so had... more

After reading the reviews I had my reserved my opion until I had stayed here. Each room has a name of a famous person associated with it and we stayed in the William Penn room. We had 2 rooms on the 3rd floor that shared the bathroom. The shower was great for a hotel of any kind and although we... more

The location is wonderful, and that's what you pay for. The service is non existent, and if you don't want to be bothered or bother anybody it's perfect. Amenities are also little to none, although breakfast brought to the room was a nice try at service. Great for young travelers who don't need much in a hotel and are ok... more

First, the GOOD. Location, location, location, breakfast delivered to your room and the restaurtant downstairs. Next, the BAD. The key we were given not only opened our room, but every room in the hotel. Not a good thing if you ask me. And lastly, the UGLY. We stayed in room 205 which is directly above the entrance to the restaurant... more

I found it to be absolutely horrid. The room was so old and dingey; all the curtains were stained and dusty and the bed was really uncomfortable (you could feel the springs) and the quilt and blanket was also stained and dingey. There were hairs I kept finding in my bathroom that I know weren't mine; the room just had... more

I've stayed here several times before because the location was what I needed and the price was right. But now the owner of the restaurant on the first floor is managing the hotel and everything has come together as a pleasant surprise. Now there is always somone there to help with any questions or problems - well at least until... more
