This is not the place to go if you want anything more than a reasonably priced place to sleep. It was very clean and updated (room decor was modern and walls appeared to have been painted in the last few years) but it had no frills. I was surprised that there were two packets of shampoo and two bars of... More

Hotel location is great and rooms are clean. The steps from street to rooms are very steep, hallways and rooms narrow. Good hot water temp and pressure. Older toilet plumbing that might give you problems. Location is excellent. The pub across the street has a whole wall of microbrews and half of them are only $3 a pint from 5-7pm,... More

This was my second time staying at this hotel. The first time was two years ago and I was less then pleased but I heard it was under new ownership and the location was so appealing. Let's be clear, it's not a luxury hotel but neither is the price. I have paid triple the amount for a dump in New... More

If you are looking for a 5 star hotel with impeccable service look else where. However if you want to enjoy Philly and all it has to offer and are on a bit of a budget, this a diamond in the rough. As already stated practically near everything. Rooms are a bit small, can be a bit noisy, hallways can... More

We arrived being less than impressed with the overall exterior presentation of the facilities (very "ho-hum") That was quickly forgotten when we discovered all the perks of this 12 room inn. 1st, excellent location. Close to the subway, numerous parks, bars, and locally owned restaurants, historical sites, visitors center, Penns Landing, etc. Just off the main drag Market Street and... More

I stayed here in October with my girlfriend. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Our room was clean, basic but comfortable and had great wifi and tv. The hotel is located in the perfect spot, really close to all sights, we walked everywhere. Los of restaurants, shops and cafes close by too. The only problem was a funny smell which... More

We arrived at the hotel mid afternoon and check in was quick and easy, staff were polite and friendly, as they were throughout the whole stay. Our room was small but big enough, there was plenty of storage room and a clean but small bathroom. The decor was clean and modern. The location was seen, walking distance to all of... More

Wonderful, quirky, atmospheric little hotel in the right part of town. It feels like something carved out of a 200-year-old office building, and probably is. Free wifi, and a first-rate bar/bistro downstairs that is not part of the hotel but very much joined to it physically and spiritually. I didn't notice any odd smells or noise, unlike some earlier guests.... More

I would recomend the society hill hotel to anyone looking for a clean room in a great area of town. The room was cozy, and very tidy. We checked in after office hours, but someone was there to personally hand me a key. The hotel went out of its way to accomodate. I would gladly stay there again and recomend... More
