The only two good things about this hotel: location and shower water pressure. The rest was a disaster. I recently came to Philadelphia for a weekend with 3 of my friends to celebrate another friend's upcoming marriage and birthday. I paid for 4 adults in a room with 2 double beds upon my reservation on hotels.com. However, when we arrived... more

The Latham is not a luxury 5 star hotel, but it is clean, comfortable and good value. It is in an excellent location and we found it a pleasant place to stay. There are also plenty of restaurants nearby. The doormen were welcoming and helpful. Recommended. more

I recently performed in a classical concert in downtown Philadelphia, and needed to find a hotel that was (relatively) close to both the performance venue and 30th Street Station (so I could catch my train the next morning). Booked the Latham upon a friend's recommendation and was very glad I did. Room was affordable, clean and comfortable. The decor was... more

When Hubs and I took off for a spontaneous mini vacation mid August we found ourselves headed to Philly and needed a last minute hotel room. The night before we arrived I decided that we would take a chance on the Latham despite some of the reviews I read here because we got the room for $99 per night. I... more

I took a chance on this one and it paid off. I usually stay at chains (and get points) but for this low price I stayed at the Latham, right on Rittenhouse Sq. I never use hotel bars, restaurants, spa/gyms while I'm in cities anyway, so this was great. Clean room, with traditional decor; no hip-ness to speak of. To... more

Hotel was booked for me by a business travel company. I read the Trip Advisor reviews after the booking was made and was prepared for the worst, but was pleasantly surprised by what I found. Location was excellent. Room was large and clean with internet access included. Staff were very helpful and pleasant. For the money, I think this excellent... more

For around $100+ per night, this hotel is a good value in a superb location (near Rittenhouse Square, shopping, train station, Market Street) but it could be so much more. We were told it changed ownership recently and was due to be completely renovated, but I guess due to the recession, that hasn't happened. The rooms are very outdated, although... more

Got a great rate at $109 per night. Excellent location, Excellent and Friendly Night Doorman. Hotel definitely shows it's age, but for the rate, you really can't go wrong. Rooms are spacious, but old. Bathroom is of cheap construction, but when traveling alone, who cares. more

I am going to keep this short and simple: Pros: Very good location in walking distance to shops, food, etc....hotel is fairly cheap. Cons:The decor is very very out dated. The carpet in our room was horrible (bring slippers or flip flops) and furniture old. Lobby very small, and the valet expensive. Seems like there are nicer hotels on this... more

I checked into the Latham at 11:00 pm on a Friday night and went directly to sleep. I awoke at 1:30 am to itchiness and discomfort. I turned on the light to find the bed CRAWLING WITH BED BUGS. At least two dozen stood out on the white sheets. When I went to crush the bugs, they were engorged with... more
