This bed and breakfast is in a lovely old home in the University City section of Philadelphia. There are several good restaurants in this area. You cannot walk to the downtown area, but public transportation is available, and if you have a car, the drive is an easy one. The innkeeper, Janet, really loves what she does, and it shows.... more

I've stayed in B&Bs from coast to coast, but never has a host been willing to do so much to make me happy. Seriously, her offer to drive us to the airport completely floored me. Spruce Hill Manor is run smartly and professionally, this is not some "I'll turn my house into a B&B, maybe I can make some money... more

We stayed at Spruce Hill two evenings for a summer weekend. The B&B is 6 blocks west of the U of P. on 46th street at Pine. The house is beautifully kept and very comfortable. It is on the corner so many rooms have windows on two sides that offer refreshing breezes. The bedrooms on the 2nd and 3rd floor... more
