Made to feel at home as soon as we arrived, and Janet arranged a taxi for our trip into the city immediately. Beautiful building and nicely furnished rooms with lots of fun Victorian decoration. Great breakfast with home cooked quiche and elegantly laid table. Very quiet neighbourhood with quick drive into city center and to museums. Will definitely look at... More

I stayed at this B&B for 9 Nights in Audubon suit! It is a long period of time, but I had to beat jet lag and restore my biological clock after a 13 hours flight from Kuwait to be ready for my USMLE CS exam, and Spurce Hill Manor was just the right place for me! I felt like home... More

Janet goes out of her way to accommodate guests comfortably and thoughtfully. We recently spent 4 nights in her lovely, historic bed & breakfast while my husband had surgery at the University of PA Hospital (a few blocks away). Although I only spent one night there (staying at my husband's bedside the rest of the time), our grown daughter was... More

We chose Spruce Hill Manor on the basis of the web-site and the reviews. We had come to Philadelphia for the annual Flower Show. Janet couldn't have been more helpful with suggestions on places to eat and her care.. The weather was icy and her idea to take a cab was excellent. We were with another couple and were treated... Janet was so welcoming and treated us like long-lost cousins. She took great care of us, even driving us to the subway. The inn is historic, and she has decorated with period pieces which makes it even better. Breakfast wasn't fancy, but more than adequate with the most amazing breads from a local bakery (chocolate babka -- yum!!). We will... More

My wife and I visited Philly a few weeks ago and needed to stay close to the hospitals/colleges. This B&B did not disappoint at all. The building is in a nice neighborhood, the architecture/room are lovely, but the best part of all was our host. She went out of her way in several ways to make our stay fantastic, whether... More

My daughter is a freshman at Drexel University. I brought my mother and mother-in-law to visit her. Janet and Anthony were amazing and made us feel right at home. It is a great location, close to Drexel dorms. The room was very comfortable and we nice to return to after long days in the city! My mother had never been... More

My wife and I had a great time at Spruce Hill. We were in Philadelphia to visit our son at Drexel, and Spruce Hill is very close to campus... more so than our previous hotel. Janet and Anthony took great care of us, and we look forward to coming back.

Fantastic alternative to a hotel- extremely tidy and quiet B & B run by very friendly, caring and helpful hosts. You can open a window and breathe (unlike the closed HVAC systems of big hotels). THAT counts for lots to this satisfied guest, who slept like a log after touring around the city.

My boyfriend and I spent a long weekend in April to celebrate our anniversary. All I can say is that all the reviews I read, did not exaggerate. Janet is an extremely sweet and friendly hostess. She was very happy to help us in picking restaurants, activities and giving us directions around town. The B&B is a little out of... More
