My stay at Spruce Hill Manor was far superior to anything I expected. Besides being meticulously clean and comfortable, my hostess, Janet, even offered to drive me to the hospital to visit my granddaughter. Her breakfast were equivalent to fine dining. Whenever I return to Philadelphia, I would not consider staying anywhere but at Spruce Hill Manor.

The ambiance of this nice inn in a residential neighborhood was great -- an old-fashioned relaxing vibe. The night we stayed there happened to be a large community street festival, which was unplanned. Great to roam around the 'hood while sampling food and people-watching. Service and warmth of the proprietor and staff was top-notch.

Upon arrival, we were very warmly greeted by Janet, the Innkeeper, who showed us around the inn and our room. It was a large suite -- very beneficial as our 17-year old son was accompanying us. The room was very clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated. It provided wonderful accommodations for our one-night stay.

Our stay in the beautiful, cheery library room was delightful. The innkeeper and staff go way out of their way to make their guests feel welcome and comfortable. Complimentary wine, cake, and juice are just some of the personal touches that made it so special. Janet, the innkeeper helped us plan out our trip downtown, as well as cooking a... More

My husband, son and I stayed here while checking out the University of Pennsylvania. It was a delightful B&B, with Janet being an excellent hostess. The neighborhood had plenty of restaurants within walking distance and the neighborhood was delightful. It was one of the cleanest we have ever stayed in. There was complimentary wine and breakfast. I read the past... More

My sister and I stayed here while meeting in Philadelphia. We were warmly welcomed right away by staff and owner. Everyone made us feel entirely at home. The decor is an antique lovers delight. We found something interesting every time we turned around. Immaculate and comfortable accommodation. The hostess is helpful and was kind enough to give us rides when... More

A gem in the heart of Philly. Janet is a genuinely nice person and goes out of her way to assist you. ( Offered us rides to places, etc :) but also gave us space to visit with each other. Anthony (service staff) was VERY attentive. Thank you Anthony! The house itself is just beautiful. Rich woodwork and old fashioned charm.... More

I want to preface my review by saying Janet was a wonderful host. She communicated via email very well and when I asked to have my room ready early she was more than accommodating. The B&B is very lovely and The Tiffany-Parish Room I stayed in was very clean and I loved the blue sheets. The tea that was readily... More

The whole B n B is so beautifully decorated with lots of porcelain pieces and the tables in the dining room are so elegantly set up. It is a joy to admire all the details in each room. Even the carpets thrown throughout all the rooms deserve to be admired. On arrival, there is a "wow' factor and Janet further... More

My daughter and I stayed at Spruce Hill Manor during a visit to Penn. She had an important meeting the next day and this was the perfect place to stay. The house is beautiful and the rooms very clean and nice. But it is the hospitality of the hostess that sets it apart. She was very welcoming and eager to... More
