From start to finish, this hotel had problems. It took three tries using three different sets of key cards to get into our room. The maintenance man who met us at the room upon try #2 said the front desk clerk didn't know what she was doing in preparing the cards. (She was using a 20-year-old MacClassic computer to do... more

This place passed it's prime in a previous lifetime. Updating should have occured years ago. Room was only passable and not worth the $129/night I paid for it. Frequently, there was no one at the front desk to assist guest with questions, check outs, etc. Next time, I'll stay somewhere else. more

Stayed at the Best Western over the Memorial Day weekend for a wedding we were attending in Philly. I was really worried, given the reviews, but our stay turned out to be fine. Sure, the hotel is old and certainly not luxurious, but it is centrally located and perfect if you are going to Philly to do something other than... more

I frequent the philadelphia area often after growing up there. I've stayed here, the sheraton, the double tree, and many others. The Center City Best Western, when you factor in location and free parking continues to be the best value in the city. Sure, it's not luxury. it may be dingy at times. But if you really only plan on... more

Wish I had read the reviews before staying here. My husband was sitting his USMLE in Market St so this was the closest hotel that didn't charge more then $150. The dbl room was $118. At that, it was poor value, considering it didn't include breakfast. I think the worst part was when I was alone in my room ready... more

I picked this hotel for its location as far as museums and things to do. In that aspect I was not disappointed. Its just a few blocks away from all the great places. My experience in this hotel is singular, I'm sure. Heres my story about this weird hotel. My room was stuffy and seemed as if no one had... more

I had booked this hotel before reading the reviews, so I was expecting the worst. And the room was filthy. The dark blue carpet was white with fluff, 3 hotel pens lying on the floor where they had fallen, cigarette butts under the bed, filthy mirrors and enough dust to stuff a mattress. The carpet was still not hoovered 5... more

The bed sheets were dirty, everything smelled bad, and all the surfaces were greasy. Stayed for 2 hours and then drove across town to another hotel in an ice storm just to get away. Took a shower as soon as I arrived at new hotel! Will never, ever go back here. Worst hotel I've ever stayed in. more

My daughter is in the her first year at U Penn and I visited her this month from the UK for the first time. This hotel has a lot to recommend it. Great location near the art museum, great view from the room - see photo. The king bed was enormous and one of the most comfortable I have ever... more
