I had a very pleasant and comfortable stay at the Morris House Hotel. The building has great character and is very centrally located just off Washington Square. There are many good points. The beds are comfortable and the hotel is quiet so a good night's sleep is pretty much guaranteed. The hotel lounge is equipped for comfort with soft lighting... More

We visit philly often to visit our daughter and have stayed in many different places and we all agree that this was by far the best! We were amazed by the beauty of the old home and we were even more excited to have all the convenience of an upscale accommodation. The location was perfect, we could walk to everything... More

A historic hotel with picturesque entrance and back garden which serves as a quiet sanctuary from the city. It is minutes from the Liberty Bell, in a quiet and peaceful part of town. There are no elevators so be prepared to lift your luggage around narrow staircases if you are at the higher floors. The room is surprisingly large, clean... More

We were only able to spend one night at the Morris House Hotel and wish we could have stayed longer. The Hotel is in an historic building (1787) and perfectly located within walking distance of all the major historical attractions. The staff was wonderfully attentive. And we enjoyed the afternoon cookies and wine and a nice continental breakfast in the... More

Great place, gracious staff, an authentic step back into history. My favorite Hotel in Philadelphia. Always a refreshing escape. A gourmet desert in the interior garden makes a nice way to end the day. ... G McB

Think this hotel is resting on its laurels. Yes, a fabulous building and good location but for this money we expected a lot more. There are no tea and coffee facilities in the bedroom, only in the downstairs lounge and our room 304 had some issues. The lighting in the bathroom is inadequate - very dark and the bathroom was... The perfect place to stay in Philly - I can't recommend this hotel highly enough! The hotel is beautiful, clean and has excellent staff who will ensure you have a great stay. The breakfast was great and there were fresh cookies everyday in the dining room, perfect for those with a sweet tooth. The room was spacious and comfortable with... More

Beautifully maintained and renovated Colonial-era home. (I like the previous reviewer who said it was "like visiting a wealthy colonial merchant, with wifi.") The staff is attentive, friendly and very accommodating. The common areas are lovely, probably extra nice in the winter when the fireplaces are lit. Fresh cookies and tea are served mid-afternoon, as is complimentary wine from 4... More

It was a treat staying in this hotel which was built in the 1700s. Its historic atmosphere has been maintained. Staff is accommodating, complimentary breakfast was good. It is almost adjacent to Washington Square and within walking distance of the historic district. Couldn't ask for a better location. The bedroom and the bathroom were tiny, but the bed was comfortable.... More

To me the Morris House something between being a boutique hotel, and a huge Bed and Breakfast. My wife and I found it to be quaint and charming as advertised, as well as extremely colonial. The room we stayed in was well appointed, and as quiet as a bank vault. Seriously, the most quiet hotel room I can remember. The... More
