Think this hotel is resting on its laurels. Yes, a fabulous building and good location but for this money we expected a lot more. There are no tea and coffee facilities in the bedroom, only in the downstairs lounge and our room 304 had some issues. The lighting in the bathroom is inadequate - very dark and the bathroom was... The perfect place to stay in Philly - I can't recommend this hotel highly enough! The hotel is beautiful, clean and has excellent staff who will ensure you have a great stay. The breakfast was great and there were fresh cookies everyday in the dining room, perfect for those with a sweet tooth. The room was spacious and comfortable with... More

Beautifully maintained and renovated Colonial-era home. (I like the previous reviewer who said it was "like visiting a wealthy colonial merchant, with wifi.") The staff is attentive, friendly and very accommodating. The common areas are lovely, probably extra nice in the winter when the fireplaces are lit. Fresh cookies and tea are served mid-afternoon, as is complimentary wine from 4... More

It was a treat staying in this hotel which was built in the 1700s. Its historic atmosphere has been maintained. Staff is accommodating, complimentary breakfast was good. It is almost adjacent to Washington Square and within walking distance of the historic district. Couldn't ask for a better location. The bedroom and the bathroom were tiny, but the bed was comfortable.... More

To me the Morris House something between being a boutique hotel, and a huge Bed and Breakfast. My wife and I found it to be quaint and charming as advertised, as well as extremely colonial. The room we stayed in was well appointed, and as quiet as a bank vault. Seriously, the most quiet hotel room I can remember. The... More

Loved this place. Gracious colonial decor, free fresh baked cookies after 3:00 p.m., free glass of wine between 4&5 p.m. I drank mine in the gorgeous courtyard, which made me want to plan a wedding or corporate event so I could have it here. A couple of blocks stroll through beautiful Washington Square and you are at Independence Hall. Perfect!... More

Every time we visit the city, we always stay here. We love the great atmosphere and the help yourself breakfast and tea time. Everything is clean and I feel safe. It is located next to many landmarks/tourist attractions.

We recently spend two nights at the Morris House while in Philadelphia for a wedding. If you're looking for five star luxury and glitz this is not the hotel for you. However, if you're looking for a very intimate, quaint, nicely-staffed boutique hotel in a truly historic building that oozes Philly charm, stay here. Our mini-suite was spacious, comfortable and quiet.... It was our first time in Philadelphia and we were fortunate to have found the unique Morris House Hotel. The hotel is a colonial building with great brick courtyards, located in historic downtown. Moving around the small hotel was very comfortable and homey. We stayed in a spacious, well appointed, comfy two room suite. Among other amenities, after 3pm a... More

The Morris House Hotel is a charming bed and breakfast in the historic district of Philadelphia. Our room was large and included a bedroom and bath, living room area (with TV) and kitchen, which was very comfortable. Daily cleaning services were available. Breakfast was very good. We were visiting for our son's wedding and found the entire staff to be... More
