This is a cute bed and breakfast in the heart of Philly. First with the negatives: -I flew in a red-eye from the west coast, I called ahead and asked if I was able to check in early. They said "not that early" and that I would have to pay for an extra night... so I did. $350 for a... More

OK, this is not a 5 star hotel nor does it pretend to be. It IS a charming inn dripping with history. We had a second floor suite. Comfortable, with all the expected amenities and a few of the problems one might associate with such a creaky property. As noted by others, the bathroom was "functional" at best. Water pressure... First, the pros: Reasonably priced, excellent location, comfortable bed. Clean rooms, big screen TV. I only had a few gripes about the room (302), and all were with the bathroom. The bathroom is very modern, it seemed out of place in a Colonial house. The water pressure was non-existent. It was literally a trickle coming out of the shower. May... More

We spent 3 nights at the Morris House Hotel during Christmas 2011 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel itself was warm and inviting, particularly with all the Christmas decorations; having tea and cookies in front of the fireplace was especially nice. The staff was extremely helpful and the location was very convenient to all parts of town. Our room... More

We booked a luxury room for a three night stay. The closet was just some hangers hanging above the TV in the amoire. There was a loose hook hung on the side of the amoire. Nowhere to hang clothes unless they are barbie clothes! The website promises a fresh flower, chocolate and a bottle of water...we got two small squares... More

We stayed overnight the week after Christmas and wish we could have stayed longer. All of the public rooms were beautifully decorated with furnishings appropriate for a home built in the colonial era, and the gas fireplaces made them welcoming and cozy. We were happy to find tea was being served as we arrived and enjoyed unwinding after our trip... More

In the very heart of Philly, this historical hotel offers you great strides for sightseeing, shopping, eating etc. Nice service, lovely, helpful staff... Breakfasts were a bit dissappointing though... We preferred to go Le Pain Quotidien on the next corner for some fluffy omelettes. Really liked the feeling of being a part of history, but our room was not very... More

Spent four nights at Morris House in October. Could not ask for a better location, walked everywhere. Staff is attentive, informative, very cordial. Bed was comfortable (we were in room 301), bathroom had room for cosmetic bags, no back and forth to prepare for the day. VERY quiet for city location. Two small glitches that can be changed. No yogurt... More

We spent one night at the Morris House Hotel to celebrate our 10th Anniversary. It was perfect for us. The room was beautiful and the Morris House itself was centrally located. The staff was fabulous, the continental breakfast was delicious and the overall atmosphere was quiet and relaxing! We couldn't have asked for a better experience. More
