We came to visit historical Philadelphia and what better way than to stay in an 18th century building that has been converted into a really nice hotel. Our suite had a kitchen, sitting room and bedroom all nicely appointed. A continental breakfast was included as was a complimentary evening reception which we never returned early enough to try. The only... More

Morris House is a great place to stay. Very friendly staff and within walking distance to anything you would want to do. The hotel is adjacent to the restaurant with a courtyard in between. I'm bad with names and I wish I could give credit to those specific staff members who helped us but.... we arrived late and yet the... More

The location can't be beat. Just a short walk thru Washington Park and you're right at all of the historical sites. The hotel is charming. There's wifi all day, and cookies and wine every afternoon. Our suite was quite large (#401) and had a kitchenette. The room itself was more modern than colonial, but I was happy to have 2... More

Honestly we walked in... the room wasn't ready (which was perfectly fine - we where early) and the Nigerian directed us to the brochure gallery, and gave us a overview of the city! We came back after visited a few places, and then we where directed to our suite (Presidential).... Everything was clean and spotless! We wake up leave, and... More

We stayed in the Morris House for a one night stopover with some sightseeing. Our selection was based on the location near the historic sites and the reviewer ratings. Plus, it would be more interesting to stay in a smaller historic property than in a large chain hotel or motel. We were not disappointed. On arrival, we found excellent service... More

We live about an hour or so outside of Philadelphia, and like to break away often for a peaceful and romantic evening at the Morris House. It is the ONLY place we stay when we are in Philadelphia. We only visit if they have a room available. This historic home is meticulously maintained, warm and comfortable and homey. The breakfast... More

We enjoyed our stay in Philadelphia in large part because of this charming hotel. Ideally located in the center of the center city, we used some city transit, one taxi,, and we walked, and walked and walked. That is our way of working off the wonderful food that we eat in abundance. Breakfast is included in the room rate. The... More

We stayed two nights at the Morris House Hotel July 21st and 22nd this week. Upon arrival, we were given a great welcoming tour of the downstairs are and then our bags were taken upstairs (no elevators) to the third floor room. The accommodations were fabulous and very quiet in the evenings. No hallway foot traffic as in a regular... More

For comparable prices to a boring hotel room, you can get a historical luxury mini-suite at the Morris House Hotel. Stayed for a week in June 2015 - it was a blast. Great restaurant and bar downstairs, wonderful friendly staff. B&B touches like cookies and wine and free wi-fi. I don't know why people stay at boring convention hotels when... More

Great location, brilliant ambiance and decor, welcoming staff- overall a very good experience. It's just minutes away from the Independence Hall and within a walking distance of the Harbor Park. The restaurant has a good selection of food and drinks.
