The Rittenhouse 1715 Boutique Hotel (somewhat difficult to locate, as most taxi drivers mistake it for the Rittenhouse Hotel) is in a very fine 18th century building. The staff are pleasant and welcoming. On arrival, quite late, we had a long chat with Felix, the young Italian who manned the Reception desk. He couldn't have been nicer and even made... More

Lovely rooms and a good breakfast. Hotel staff is very helpful and very pleasant. Near many restaurants and within walking distance to the sights if the cities. If you happen to be over 65 you can ride the bus for free. Make sure you go to the Reading Terminal Market and go hungry.

Dear PSU1966, Thank you so much for your kind words about the hotel, rooms, and breakfast. It is true that SEPTA (the public transportation authority in this area) does provide free busing for seniors who show their ID or Medicare card, which is a fantastic way to get around the Center City area and beyond. We hope to see you... More

We were so happy here. We were relaxed and were treated royally. The staff gave us personal service with a professional touch. The staff was helpful with directions and suggestions for dining. It was quiet and out of the way, but not too out of way so you could still get to museums easily. I felt like I was at... More

This was a great find in downtown Philly. First, the reservation process was simple, online and when I had to change my reservation they were very helpful. They called me the day before my trip to see if I needed any assistance with my trip. When I got there I was so pleased at how lovely all of the rooms... More

Love this out of the way European style boutique hotel. Only 23 rooms and off a small street adjacent to Rittenhouse Square. Complimentary wine and cheese every evening and complimentary continental breakfast everyday. Rooms are clean and well appointed. Bathrooms modern and spacious. Not your noisy inner city location. We had a very quiet experience. Our hosts were discreetly attentive.... More

Dear Msd21111, We are so pleased that we've become your "go-to" in Philadelphia! We are also very appreciative of our quiet location, especially because we are still within walking distance of all of Philadelphia's great museums, tourist sites, and restaurants without much of the noise generally associated with those locales. Thank you for your kind words about the discretion of... More

I've stayed in a few hotels in Philadelphia and this was definitely one of my best experiences. The standout factor was the service - everyone was very friendly and always had a smile. We needed to leave our luggage twice and they were happy to assist. Very personal feel - the breakfast and wine/cheese hour in the drawing room were... More

Our go-to hotel in Philadelphia. Clean, well appointed rooms. Fine morning coffee served in your room at no extra charge if you request. Wine before dinner; good continental breakfast. Well trained staff. Great location downtown. A boutique hotel that puts service ahead of pretension.

The Rittenhouse 1715 was born a bread and breakfast and is now trying to make the transition to a full service high-end boutique hotel. What’s often not clear is exactly how high. The degree to which you enjoy your stay at the Rittenhouse will in part be determined by which one you were expecting. The hotel’s website seems to promise... More

Dear Sam R, Thank you very much for your very kind and honest review. If you are looking for a boutique hotel in Center City Philadelphia, look no further. The location is perfect. Walk to everything: restaurants, bars, cafes, shopping, museums, parks, and more. The staff is courteous, polite, helpful, thoughtful, and efficient. Continental breakfast and white wine reception included. Very reasonably priced--compares favorably with the big box hotel options nearby. Quiet room, comfortable... More

Dear TomWolfeUSNA72, Thank you very much for your kind review! We appreciate that you find us favorable to "big box" hotels and that our staff and our rooms met all of your needs. Once upon a time, I was a vagabond traveler who was returning to the United States after a long period abroad. The plan was to be in Philadelphia for a single night. Admittedly, I didn't know a whole lot about Philadelphia in general, aside from there being delicious cheesesteaks, a cracked bell, and lots of awesome history. So, I did... More
