Once upon a time, I was a vagabond traveler who was returning to the United States after a long period abroad. The plan was to be in Philadelphia for a single night. Admittedly, I didn't know a whole lot about Philadelphia in general, aside from there being delicious cheesesteaks, a cracked bell, and lots of awesome history. So, I did... More

Surrounded by impersonal name brand chain hotels, this one offers a welcome contrast: comfort, genuine service, attention paid to small things, and in a perfect location (a quiet street 100 paces from Rittenhouse Square). A fine breakfast and a complimentary evening wine service made this a relaxing break.

My wife and I stayed here in February. Upon arrival we noticed there is no valet or parking even though there is a parking lot across the street they instructed us to a garage about a block away which may deter some. The staff at the front desk were very friendly. Our room was on the back side and up... More

My wife and I stayed overnight at Rittenhouse 1715 for the first time, a couple of weeks ago. We were hoping to land one of the other, bigger "boutique" hotels right in that same area, on a third party website. After we paid, we learned where we were staying. The hotel is right around the block from the park, so... More

Dear amen1986, Thank you for your honest feedback of our hotel. It is true that we are small (only 23 rooms), and that while some people find this to be a positive thing, that is not the case for everyone. We are very pleased to hear that you found our staff to be cordial and your room to be clean,... More

We stayed here Valentines weekend. The "Hotel" which is really a BandB. As far as accommodations, it is very comfortable. I would rate it a 3-4 out of 5. The desk personnell are very nice and accommodating. The breakfast was just ok. Bottom line is we though it was way overpriced for a Bed and Breakfast!

several years ago I asked my assistant to book the Rittenhouse for my yearly trip to Philadelphia. Upon arrival I discovered I was booked into the 1715 ( apparently a common occurance ) Having the reservation I stayed , what a pleasure ! I have stayed here every trip since. Great location , quiet surroundings and outstanding service. Tastfully decorated... More

We picked Rittenhouse 1715 because of its character and location - within walking distance to all we wanted to do. Our first perk was an early checking, of course we were staying mid-week, but still nice. The second perk was the upgrade to the Rittenhouse Suite. WOW. What a great room and treat as this trip was for our anniversary.... More

I selected this boutique hotel because of it's proximity to Devon's Seafood Grill. I was so pleased by the service, atmosphere, attention to detail, comfort, cleanliness and quiet room. I especially loved the shower and the comfortable bed. It was such a pleasure and very relaxing. The manager and host were extremely kind, accommodating and went out of their way... More

We had a wonderful time at the Rittenhouse 1715 over the Easter holiday. This is a lovely facility with an outstanding, accommodating staff. We loved the location and the amenities in the hotel, such as the breakfast room, sitting rooms and patio. As is often the case with facilities of this type, the rooms themselves are somewhat small, but this... More

I stayed here over Thanksgiving--I was looking for an alternative to a big hotel, but not looking for a B&B with the duty/expectation to socialize. The rooms are lovely, very clean and comfortable, and the management is warm and friendly. The complimentary breakfast is limited but you can order a more extensive breakfast off a menu. Only caveat: I had... More

Dear Cynthia C, We are thrilled that you found us to be a great alternative to the larger hotels and B&Bs! As we are neither one of those, but contain aspects of both types of properties, we are glad that we've succeeded in our goal to be uniquely between the two. Additionally, it is great to hear that you found... More
