My friend and I stayed here during Temple's Alumni weekend about two weeks ago. It was booked through Groupon, and upon arrival they didn't have our welcome wine basket. I said "oh, it's ok - we'll be here more than one night, so we could always pick it up tomorrow". (I didn't even remember about that basket honestly). The front... More

The Conwell Inn is a fine place to stay when visiting Temple University. The staff are friendly and helpful, and it has the feel of a B&B without the breakfast. There is a coffee shop next door and food trucks and fast food all around but for shopping, museums, restaurants etc. you need to get into the Philadelphia city center.

I recently stayed at the Conwell Inn during a speaking engagement at Temple University. Believe it or not, I didn't even know there was a hotel on campus and I spent four years at the university. From the minute I walked in, I was treated great. Michael at the front desk gave me the rundown of what was available to... More

Pros: * Phenomenal location at Temple * Cozy rooms * Friendly staff Cons: * This is probably my bad luck but they didn't finish cleaning my room. There was a bottle of cleaner fluid left in my room and the lotion etc. left for me were mostly used already so I think the cleaning lady had something come up and... More

I did not have high expectations for a hotel geared to visitors to a university campus. But the Conwell Inn exceeded my expectations. The room on the second floor was immaculately clean, the bed was comfortable, heat was easily adjusted, bathroom was provided with all necessities and towels were nice and thick. Unlike more luxurious places I have stayed in,... More

The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful with questions. It is extremely convenient to the Temple University campus and the rail line coming from the airport. The subway to downtown and the north is located nearby. There are limited dining options nearby--basic college places that are OK for a quick bite, but you need to have a taxi take... More

We stayed three nights. On the morning of our first full day, we toured the city, returning at 3pm Our room had not been made up. My husband took the trash to the desk and obtained towels and an apology. The following day, we returned to the room at 2pm and found the beds made and towels, but no replacement... More

THE GOOD: Great location for a visit to Temple University. Lots of character--it was an historic building and had been maintained fairly well. Large, comfortable rooms--nice beds, great floorplan with unique touches like tasteful woodwork and banisters, and a great TV with pretty good channels. Price--while a bit on the high side, the price was reasonable if you're planning on... More

I cannot say enough good things about my stay! It far surpassed my expectations. It was clean, cozy, in a great location and at a great price. The staff was overly helpful. I had extreme difficulty catching a cab and the manager came out in the rain to help me. After such a terrible morning and being late for my... More

Stayed one night while visiting my Temple student son. What a lovely and affordable option in the city! I also recommend for those visiting the city sights as all the downtown hotels are outrageously expensive. It is clean, comfortable, and well maintained. I am a sucker for traditional decor and the room was charming. Coffee and cookies in the lobby... More
