We stayed at the Comfort Inn Downtown/Historic District for a weekend road trip to Philly. We had never been there and had a pretty extensive clipboard-of-fun to cover in a short period of time. This hotel worked out great is about a 5 minute walk from Elfreth's Alley, and from there it’s not far to the Betsy Ross house, Franklins... more

Stayed here with my adult daughter on our way to DC. Got the room through hotwire ($79) for July 3. Its in a good location, walking distance to the historic district, but located right next to I95, so there is a lot of traffic noise. I thought it would keep me up, but I was so tired it acted as... more

We started staying here when my husband had to come to Wills Eye Hospital. We stayed somewhere else the first year but it was noisey and the parking garage was horrible. The Comfort Inn is Quiet, clean, convenient, the breakfast is good. We have never had any problems when staying here. We used to come four times a year but... more

Stayed one night with wife and kids to see sites in Philly. A bit pricey for a Comfort Inn, but worth it, considering location. Clean, large room. Good breakfast. Expensive parking. Seemed to be launchpad for middle-aged, drunken partyers. more

The room was clean and the view was fantastic looking out onto the river with the Ben Franklin Bridge right there. The staff was not the friendliest I have encountered in my travels. It was very easy to walk to any of the attractions from this location. more

Front desk staff is abominable: Though this hotel is situated in a prime area in Philly within walking distance to most historical sites, I will never again stay here. The best that can be said about this establishment is that the guest rooms were comfortable and the housekeeping staff were pleasant and prompt. One of the cheaper finds in downtown... more

The location was very convenient and our room was very nice, however the check in and check out were not especially effcient or pleasant. Both occasions the desk staff appeared harassed and confused. Also, parking was a bit of a problem when we got back to the hotel late at night. Breakfast was pretty good. more

After checking in, I was given a very spacious room, but with the motorway almost directly behind the windows. Noise was not an issue, though. Upon returning from a brief stroll, I found the hot water not working and was immediately given a new room upon request. The electronic key card wasn't working, so I was given another room. This... more

Quiet large room with great view of river & Ben Frankln bridge. Carolyn at front desk was most helpful. Rainy night so we went across the street to La Veranda restaurant. First class! Only complaint: The courtesy shuttle scheduled to run until 11am,stopped running at 10:40am (Thurs Apr 2 2009) more

I cant say anything but praises about this awesome little two star. I've traveled rich and I've traveled poor. This particular trip to Philly was a weekend getaway with no cash to spend. If you are forced to go somewhere with no money Philly is the place to do it and The Comfort Inn is the only place to stay.... more
