The Alexander Inn is a warm inviting unique hotel /inn conveniently located in downtown Philadelphia. While our room was not huge, it was beautifully decorated and had a a nice view. A real bonus - breakfast is included. Parking is not included but discounted. Generally, the staff is quite accommodating. We will definitely return.

The term boutique hotel was always frightening to me as I understood the boutique part to translate into expensive. Boy was I wrong. Not only was the Alexander Inn comporably priced, if not less expensive than, the national chains in the area but it was fantastic. Our room was clean and beautiful with a nice view of the city. I... It was nice to stay in a boutique hotel in the Gayborhood. We found our room perfectly comfortable. It wasn't cavernous but we didn't expect it to be. We had an enormous king size bed which was very comfortable. The bath room was fine with a lovely powerful shower. The buffet breakfast was fine, with some healthy options. I would... More

My girlfriend and I booked the Alexander Inn based upon its Tripadvisor rating. When we arrived, however, things weren't as good as they were cracked up to be. Here's the breakdown: -there was hair (you can guess the type) on the bathroom floor when we arrived, and I don't think the maids ever tried to clean the floors while we... More

We spent a very nice weekend here. The room and bathroom were not huge, but both very nice, and plenty big enough for us. Very high end toiletry products and a quite comfortable bed. The location is close to Market Street and lots of subway connections, and a short walk from the fabulous Reading Market, a foodie paradise. The extensive... More

I stayed here for one night in March with my partner and was overall impressed with Alexander Inn. The location is excellent being just a few minutes walk from both the historical points of interest and main shopping area. The staff were possibly the friendliest & most helpful I have come across and could not do enough to make you... More

WOW! This place exceed my expectations! I read the great reviews on Trip Advisor and knew this place must be special. It was! This was our (wife) first time in Philadelphia and we couldn't have picked a better place. We were in walking distances from major historical areas, South Street and amazing "whole in the wall" cafes and restaurants. We... More

The only negatives I found in this hotel were the small rooms and the somewhat outdated decor. Being an overnight stay, these things were about as important to me as the color of the manager's socks. Everything that did matter met or exceeded our expectations. The rooms were clean and well-arranged. Everything worked to our satisfaction and the bed was... More

Things to note - parking is 2 blocks away, 5 minute walk, however, must get voucher from front desk before getting car. Parking is $14 w/voucher, $18 w/credit card no voucher, $21 at exit gate no voucher. They "sell" you the voucher, it goes on your hotel bill, then insert voucher in pay machine and get receipt for exiting. Streets... More

Couldn't have asked for a better place for our special "Girls'Weekend" with my mother and sister. Boutique hotel has European flavor. Front desk is friendly and professional, knowledgable. Rooms are well-appointed, clean and sophisticated. Will definitely return.
