Stayed for 3 nights. Found this a refreshing change from the sub-standard hostel we stayed in DC. The staff were very helpful, the guests were friendly and the facilities were very good. Free tea or coffee all day everyday, free breakfast (cereal) friday-sun, free wifi and organised evenings (out or in). Excellent Kitchen area, good laundry facilities and good security.... more

I stayed at this hostel for 4 days in the spring of 2009.It was very affordable at $29 a night.Far cheaper than any hotel in town. And the location was great. It was right by 2nd and Market. It was on a small back street. But it wasnt unsafe at all ,despite what some reviewers have stated. In fact the surrounding area was fairly... more

I've stayed at Apple Hostel three times in the past few years*, and the staff acted more unfriendly than most hostels I've stayed in. Hostel itself is centrally located, but sketchy and on an alley that smells like urine. There are two common areas, one with loud TV and the other with loud music from 7 am until midnight. They... more

Here are the facts: This person had never stayed at the hostel previously (the hostel has only been open for 17 months). We did NOT cancel her reservation. She did not show up for her reservation. As all reservation systems do, ours considered her to be a no show and opened up the bed for reservations the next morning. Since...

I stayed for about a week in this hostel in Philadelphia. The location is rather nice as it is in the middle of a lively area with a lot of restaurants and pubs. The hostel consists mainly of a floor for girls and a floor for boys. The bed are pretty standard and one gets a fresh linen when checking... more

Good hostel. Comfortable, big common rooms and kitchen. Dorms room huge, 28 beds so no sense of privacy and good luck finding your things and getting to bed when lights are switched off at 11 and not turned back on until 10.00. Queue for showers in the morning, better to shower in the evening. But the loctaion is good enough. more

Apple Hostels is a great hostel. The location is unbeatable - only a short walk away from Independence Hall and Liberty Bell. So it is the perfect spot to discover Philadelphia. The staff was very helpful and friendly. They helped me with all my questions and went out of their way for every guest. The hostel has a very social... more
