I enjoy the Gables greatly. The owners have put an extraordinary amount of thought and effort into the decor; you can spend an hour in each of the beautiful public rooms looking at the myriad things they've collected over the years. And the rooms don't fall far behind. Only slightly behind the magnificent look of the place is the way... More

This was our second visit and it was just as good as the first. Our room was very comfortable, only suffering slightly from trolley noise. Breakfasts were delicious, served buffet style, and our hosts, Don and Warren, just as charming and helpful as we remembered.

Though a little over the top with victorian items, it was a lovely home with wrap porch and the owners were wonderful. My only objection was that our sleep in the East Room would have been much nicer had the window treatment next to bed where your head/pillows were could have been replaced . The slats were broken and didn't... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our overnight stay at Gables B&B! Our host was gracious and pleasant, the grounds were spacious, the house was beautiful, the room was clean, comfortable, and quiet, and breakfast was delicious. Street parking (we arrived on a Friday evening) was plentiful, and we didn't bother using the inn's parking lot. Also, the nearby neighborhood was welcoming and... More

This B&B is hidden amongst west Philadelphia's back streets in a charming neighborhood. While the ultra-Victorian décor was a little over the top for my taste, the grounds are amazing. There is a garden of hidden paths and nooks to explore. Made it worth the price of admission.

My Sister and I stayed at The Gables for a few nights in April while visiting Philadelphia to help my niece search for a new home following her transfer to the city. The hosts were gracious and welcoming (as was their dog), breakfasts were fabulous, great coffee available early, public areas and rooms lavishly decorated and charming, short walk to... More

With all the great reviews about this B&B, we thought let's make this our first B&B to experience for the two nights we were staying in Philadelphia (for the first time). Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with our stay. We felt as if we were just being judged. Not once were we told anything about the mansion we were staying... More

Beautiful old house. Great location. The trolly runs by frequently so one never needs to wait too long. We were welcomed in by Oscar. Oscar is Warren and Don's dog or I should say son. He is very well behaved and has impeccable manners. The house is kept meticulously clean - even for its size. There is a bar fridge... More

We chose The Gables as our starting point on a three week trip as it was not too far to drive from the airport after our flight from the UK, and we love staying in B and Bs. We were not disappointed. Don and Warren are very welcoming hosts. Our room was very comfortable and clean. Breakfasts were excellent and... More

My room and traveling companions' rooms were huge and had great natural light from large, deep-silled windows. You can tell the original builder spared no expense on creating this masterpiece, the woodwork, floors, and overall structure are magnificent. I only met one of the innkeepers (Warren), and he was warm, accommodating, and it was clear he wanted to make each... More
