Marybeth and Jack are fun and lovely people. We so enjoyed staying in the amazing home. We felt like we were royalty staying in a "castle". The house had great Victorian detail with lovely woodwork and period lighting. There is a mural in the dining room is hand painted and tells the story of the original owners. The location could... more

This house can not be beat in ANY category. Jack and Marybeth see to your every need. Breakfast is made to order and can not be out done. The whole house is amazing, we felt like royalty. We had two rooms and they both were the best. The beds were so comfortable and had an areas for sitting. There are... more

Jack converted this 1897 beautiful building into a breathtaking B&B - old architecture, intricate wood-carved designs, old painted walls, interesting history. The location is just over one block from Rittenhouse Square, a beautiful park for a walk, with restaurants alongside. We had a fantastic weekend visiting Philadelphia and loved the B&B and it's location. The breakfast was simple - whatever... more

My husband and I arrived tired from walking around Philly with our backpacks on all day after a 2 hours train trip from D.C. Needless to say, we were tired. We rang the doorbell at around 4:30 and were greeted by Jack and J.R. J.R. is a hidden treasure of Lippincott House. Best trained Jack Russell I've ever met and... more

Let's get the downsides out of the way first. I appreciate this is a very large and very old house but we had a major issue with hot water supplies. There simply wasn't enough hot water (in the upstairs Morris Room) to go round if other people are having a shower/bath at the same time as you and at this... more

Such a great weekend stay in Philadelphia at the Lippincott House. A wonderfully charming and beautiful city mansion. We stayed on the 2nd floor in a gorgeous room with a king size bed (complete with a feather bed and duvet) and a over-sized bathroom with the biggest tub and shower I've ever been in AND a bidet! We had a... more

This is perhaps the best BB I have stayed in (and I've stayed in a few). This place is not a hotel by anymeans, its their home and Jack, Marybeth and JR make you feel more than welcome. The place itself is loctaed perfectly in Downtown/City Centre Philly. The rooms are large and cozy and more comforatbel than you can... more

The Inn is beautiful - if you enjoy old homes, architecture or woodwork you'll love it. We could have spent a fair bit of time just enjoying the inn itself. Jack, Marybeth and JR, the terrier (guess what kind) are all very friendly. Jack is a wealth of knowledge on restaurants from Cuban, to French to cheesesteaks. Breakfast was plentiful... more

My husband and I enjoyed every single minute in this house. We stayed in Franklin room, which is very intimate and cozy. The interior of the house is impressive, a real piece of art. It was a delight to explore it. Beside the wonderful architecture, the house has all the necessary amenities for business and entertainment. We were accommodated by... more

We stayed at the Lippincott while in Philadelphia. We were amazed to find such a lovely home nestled on an ordinary block near Rittenhouse Square. The B&B just opened a few months ago but already have owners experienced in providing extraordinary care and tending of their guests. Breakfast had all the things you enjoy and included breakfast to order. There... more
