The Independent Hotel is conveniently located within easy walking distance to historic sights, public transportation, restaurants and theaters. The staff at the hotel are eager to please and go above and beyond expectations in accommodating special needs. We enjoyed a feel of luxury at a very reasonable price.

A small hotel but cozy and friendly as the city itself. The location is the best possible for visitors to Philadelphia because it is close to everything and you can go walking within minutes to many of the major attractions. I really liked the idea of putting cheese and wine in the lobby to guests. With this, you can meet... More

With the great value and great location that was close to every place we planned to go we decided this would be the prefect spot to rest our heads at night. Upon arrival at approximately 1 a.m. the morning after our reservation, we were greeted by a very friendly man named Thomas who came to open the door for us... More

It is beautiful. The staff were so nice and also very accommodating. The breakfast basket was sweet and just enough to get us going, and we loved the one cupcoffee pot. The beds were very comfortable, as well. I also really liked the cream-colored towels. They were super soft and absorbent, too. Mechanical issues included a non-working light switch in... More

This hotel was such a great value. We decided to stay here because of the great reviews on this site. Even though we had high expectations we were still very impressed. The staff are amazing, the rooms are huge, modern and very clean. The location couldn't be better, it's close to everything. If you're in Philly I highly recommend staying... More

We stayed there for an extended weekend in August as did several other friends who came in from out of town for a family wedding. The staff was extremely accommodating and helpful. The location is great. The hotel is really a lovely boutique hotel. The rooms were very attractive and the lobby, though on the small side, did have some... More

The room was decent but the best location was better. 15 minute walk to the historical district plus the hotel was located near many restaurants. The staff was very welcoming and were willing to help. The only thing that was a downside was the breakfast. I'd suggest bringing something or eating out.

Great hotel in superb location. Rooms are spacious with a giant king size bed, two-headed shower and little kitchenette area. The staff are helpful and friendly. The only negative is it is a bit noisy with car horns but earplugs are provided. Definitely recommend this hotel.

Unusual boutique hotel. The lobby is on the second floor, but the elevator is only for the hotel so it wasn't an issue. Rooms are of varying size and shapes, so ask for larger room or corner room. Breakfast was sparse, but had healthy options. There was a Bar below our window, but it was not loud and did not... More
