We've stayed at boutique hotels and at bed and breakfast inns, and the Chestnut Hill Hotel reminds of us both. When we entered the small lobby, we were warmly greeted by the desk clerk, who checked us in and pointed us and our luggage to the elevator toward our room. Down a hallway past the elevator on the lobby level... More

Dear Sharon C, Thank you for choosing to stay with us over the July 4th weekend. I am glad to hear you received a warm welcome upon arrival and that our front desk associate was able to resolve your cable channel outage. It is great you were able to dine at both the Chestnut Grill and Paris Bistro during your... More

I would like to truly acknowledge the young man who waits on the Bombay Room in the morning. He was always very helpful, polite and welcoming. Overall the stay was nice, although as many people have said we did find the housekeeping rather careless in some aspects but it wasn't unbearable. Breakfast was pleasent with a good variety of breakfast... More

Dear Roza P, Thank you for taking the time to share your comments about your recent stay. I will be sure to pass your kind words on to our breakfast attendant, Nate. We are truly lucky to have him as part of our team. Please accept my sincere apology that our housekeeping staff did not meet or exceed your expectations.... More

Overall a charming older property in a very pleasant section of suburban Philadelphia. However, we did choose to change rooms. Our plane was late and by the time we got there it was almost midnight. We had requested a quiet room as we always do, but were given a second floor location on the front of the hotel overlooking Germantown... More

Dear Maymed, Thank you for your kind review of our hotel. I am pleased that our guest service staff was able to offer you an alternate room to accommodate your request. We call the annex where you stayed the “Carriage House” building; it has four rooms, each with a fireplace, exposed stone walls, reclaimed wood for the bathroom and closet... More

We stayed here years ago before the renovation, and not in the main building. This time we stayed in Room 204 in the main building and liked it very much. Our room overlooked Germantown Avenue, so we felt like we were in a hotel on the main street of a small town 100 years ago, with the advantage of modern... More

Dear Museumgoer, I am glad to hear you chose to stay with us again after so many years and that you enjoyed our newly renovated hotel. Your room was located on our second floor, which, as you mentioned, is close to our business center and lounge area. The ice machine and fitness center are also both located on the second... More

I love that the Chestnut Hill Hotel has a long history (the building itself has been around since 1894...whaaaaaat!)...I love that they are dog friendly (additional $25.00 per night with pup)...and I love that the staff are overall very friendly and courteous. It is, however, extremely expensive ($179.00 per night for a room with a queen bed, that price jumps... More

Dear Stephanie C, Please accept my sincere apology for the housekeeping challenges you recently experienced. I agree that you did not receive adequate housekeeping service while you stayed with us. You should have received a clean pillow case, your decorative pillows should not have been kept on the floor, and it is expected that each room is vacuumed daily. You... More

Part of the experience of staying at the Chestnut Hill Hotel is visiting the little enclave of Chestnut Hill (outside of Philadelphia proper). This little area is absolutely wonderful. Beautifully kept homes with wonderful gardens, huge trees, old buildings, people walking their dogs, sitting on porches, away from any bustle of the city. There are several blocks of unique specialty... More

Dear livinggood, Thank you for your kind words about your stay at the Chestnut Hill Hotel. It is great to hear that you were able to take advantage of our location in historical Chestnut Hill and see the old buildings and experience the specialty shops. As you mentioned, we are not located in Center City, but the area is very... More

Who says a business trip can't have a personal touch? This hotel made me feel at home - from the friendly staff to the cozy room to the Grill located in the hotel. A bit out of the heart of the city, but a pretty drive. I intend to stay here any time I'm in Philly!

Our family stayed at the Chestnut Hill for a long weekend visit to Philly. The hotel was clean and quiet, and the staff was helpful. The breakfast was relaxed, with real plates and silverware, and china. The beds took up much of the room, but were very comfortable. We got fresh towels daily, but no refills on soap or shampoo.... Found this hotel on TripAdvisor and the good reviews are well-deserved. Chestnut Hill is a quaint neighborhood of old stone homes and boutique shopping on Germantown Avenue, about 30 minutes by readily-accessible commuter rail from Center City. The hotel was a much better value than we'd find in Center City. Our room was nicely renovated with a beautiful marble-lined bath,... More

This hotel is very different from the usual condos I inhabit. I wanted something with more value since this would be partly a working vacation. I picked CHH bc it was close to the Philadelphia Cricket Club, price was fair, and rooms looked new and nicely decorated. The bonus was that it was on a historic cobblestone street with cool...
