My partner and I were in town for a wedding and were fortunate enough to stay at the Chestnut Hill Hotel. It was a beautiful, romantic weekend, and our stay at the hotel only added to and accentuated our enjoyment. The room was gorgeous, clean, and comfortable (especially the bed), and the staff was exceptionally courteous and helpful, accommodating all... More

The hotel is right in the middle of Chestnut Hill, with all kinds of nice little shops, restaurants, a theater and a great place for ice-cream. A Farmer's Market is in the same area as the hotel and the Chestnut Hill Grill under the hotel was my frequent choice for dinner or brunch when I lived in the area. Good... More

I'm sorry to do this...again. My last review of this property noted that it's pretty and well-located but that, given that the whole system has to be turned on for the A/C to work, you are out of luck with a freak heat wave in April. Come to find out you're also out of luck with completely expected hot weather... More

Dear njp77, Thank you for choosing to stay with us again and for your recent review. I am disappointed that the air conditioner in your room did not cool the room appropriately. I will have my maintenance technician evaluate and correct the problem immediately. Please accept my sincere apology for this inconvenience. I would like to talk with you personally... More

I stayed at the Chestnut Hill hotel overnight while on a business trip and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the hotel. The room I reserved was nicely decorated, spacious and very clean. It is a very easy walk to the train station and there are plenty of restaurants/shops in the surrounding area. I would definitely stay here again.

Dear Maggie M, I am very happy that you had the opportunity to mix business with pleasure during you recent stay with us. It is wonderful to hear that you found your room to be nicely decorated, spacious, and clean. Often times, business trips take travelers to hotels in corporate parks, located close to major intersections and traffic. We are... More

As the name implies, a pleasant hotel in the middle of this cozy Northern suburb of Philly; it was recommended as it's close to family, so didn't know what to expect. Overall, the hotel is pleasant and the staff is very friendly and courteous. While overpriced for what you get, it is the only game in town for that immediate... More

Dear Danf100, Thank you so much for your positive feedback about the Hotel. I am delighted that your visit with us was pleasant, you found our staff to be friendly and courteous, and your room to be comfortable and clean. I am pleased you enjoyed the china and silver-plated silverware at breakfast. As you experienced, Historic Chestnut Hill has much... More

We've stayed at boutique hotels and at bed and breakfast inns, and the Chestnut Hill Hotel reminds of us both. When we entered the small lobby, we were warmly greeted by the desk clerk, who checked us in and pointed us and our luggage to the elevator toward our room. Down a hallway past the elevator on the lobby level... More

Dear Sharon C, Thank you for choosing to stay with us over the July 4th weekend. I am glad to hear you received a warm welcome upon arrival and that our front desk associate was able to resolve your cable channel outage. It is great you were able to dine at both the Chestnut Grill and Paris Bistro during your... More

I would like to truly acknowledge the young man who waits on the Bombay Room in the morning. He was always very helpful, polite and welcoming. Overall the stay was nice, although as many people have said we did find the housekeeping rather careless in some aspects but it wasn't unbearable. Breakfast was pleasent with a good variety of breakfast... More

Overall a charming older property in a very pleasant section of suburban Philadelphia. However, we did choose to change rooms. Our plane was late and by the time we got there it was almost midnight. We had requested a quiet room as we always do, but were given a second floor location on the front of the hotel overlooking Germantown... More

Dear Maymed, Thank you for your kind review of our hotel. I am pleased that our guest service staff was able to offer you an alternate room to accommodate your request. We call the annex where you stayed the “Carriage House” building; it has four rooms, each with a fireplace, exposed stone walls, reclaimed wood for the bathroom and closet... More

We stayed here years ago before the renovation, and not in the main building. This time we stayed in Room 204 in the main building and liked it very much. Our room overlooked Germantown Avenue, so we felt like we were in a hotel on the main street of a small town 100 years ago, with the advantage of modern... More

Dear Museumgoer, I am glad to hear you chose to stay with us again after so many years and that you enjoyed our newly renovated hotel. I love that the Chestnut Hill Hotel has a long history (the building itself has been around since 1894...whaaaaaat!)...I love that they are dog friendly (additional $25.00 per night with pup)...and I love that the staff are overall very friendly and courteous. It is, however, extremely expensive ($179.00 per night for a room with a queen bed, that price jumps... More

Dear Stephanie C, Please accept my sincere apology for the housekeeping challenges you recently experienced. I agree that you did not receive adequate housekeeping service while you stayed with us. You should have received a clean pillow case, your decorative pillows should not have been kept on the floor, and it is expected that each room is vacuumed daily. You... More
