First time visiting the inn trying out Amazon Local and it was a great experience. We stayed in a lagoon room and found it clean quiet and comfortable with a wonderful view. The real highlight is the original lodge. We had dinner at the tavern both nights and thought the food was very good.

It has been 30 years between our visits to Capt. Whidbey Inn. The place is almost exactly the same as back in the day. The property is situated on acreage that includes a beautiful piece of water front overlooking Penn Cove. The inn itself is over 100 years old, built of native logs and is full of antiques. There is... More

My wife and I live near Langley on South Whidbey Island. Last weekend we took advantage of the 2 for 1 deal and stayed in the lodge, Rm 4. (the big room in the middle with the water view) We had a wonderful time. The room was lovely (as it was when we stayed before). The front desk person, Eric,... More

The Captain Whidbey Inn is on a great property, with great views of the water. My wife and I went away expecting it to be a bit more "pampered" than we experienced. Rooms were cozy, but the beds were smaller than they advertised. We first got one of their lagoon rooms, and the bed is advertised as a Queen. Not... More

Yikes...we were excited to stay here after reading up on the history of the place. Rooms are clean and orderly, but nothing to write home about. Check in was easy and pleasant. However, in the evening after returning to our room from dinner we accidentally went to the room ahead of ours...and the key OPENED the door!!! We were confused... More

My wife and I headed up here for a weekend retreat before the Christmas Holiday and were very pleasantly surprised by what we found. First and foremost, the Captain Whidbey Inn harkens back to the days when travel was far more dangerous and people longed for that light at the end of there journey that marked the welcoming arms of... This past Christmas our son gave us a couple of nights at this built in 1907. After Christmas we headed down to Mexico and upon our return headed down to this wonderful Inn which takes you back to an era gone by. In Inn is very rustic and even though it has had several updates over the years still gives... More

I love the Captain Whidbey Inn! My wife and I have stayed here several times for weekend getaways from the Seattle area. I love the quaint old lodge, the view of Penn Cove, and the old bar. They must have harvested every straight madrone log on the island to build the place. Yes, the lodge rooms are rustic, and the... More

The charm of the Captain Whidbey Inn was everything I had anticipated...and much more. I did not even mind having to walk own the hall to my semi-private bathroom. The staff was amazing, providing wine glasses for romantic time on the deck and pots of hot water for tea in our room. The dining room not open every night, so... More

I had a very unique experience at the Captain Whidbey Inn, so I don't know how useful my review will be. My stay does demonstrate the friendly and accommodating efforts of the staff, and I can speak to the high quality of the facilities. I stayed for one night as I was driving back to Portland from BC in late... More
