We arrived Friday 11/14/14 and were greeted very nicely. After checking in, we had a meal in the dining room. The staff (especially Felicia) was VERY friendly and the food was amazing and the portions were big. The Continental Breakfast was nice too. We stayed until Tuesday 11/18/14 and EVERYONE we met (staff and guests) were VERY friendly. The staff... More

We came in on a dark and stormy night, ready to have a quick meal and get to bed. Then, we found out that the restaurant isn't open on Monday or Tuesday nights. It was a little dark and spooky, walking to our rooms and we peeked into one and saw four big animal heads, mounted on the wall! I... More

The Captain Whidbey is a quaint inn in a beautiful location. And for a group of writers, we appreciated the character and inspiration. The staff at the Inn helped make our event a success. They were well organized and professional. The Lagoon Rooms were spacious with great views. The only issues were with the WiFi and phone reception. They were... More

Seduced by the advertising we were disappointed by the offhand reception, the room did not has any hanging space at all for our clothing and two of the three drawers in the chest were occupied by bedding. We ordered salmon sandwiches in the tavern and 80 minutes later were served a tough and tasteless burger!

I must say that bunking with my pals in the historic inn was really fun--I felt like we were back in the dorms because (and don't say I didn't warn you) there are shared bathrooms. It really wasn't too bad, but if there were a bunch of strangers there, it may have felt different. I will say that 1 MAJOR... More

Was sent an email from the Inn offering 2night stay, $15 dining credit and Ticket for Taste of Whidbey. The Inn is a 107 year old Inn on Whidbey Island in Coupeville. Great views from Inn rooms. We stayed in Lagoon Room for the first time and love it even more because of the views from there. Inn is old... More

I have looked at staying at this quaint inn for many years.. had a look but it never worked out until now. We arrived without a reservation .. and it was no vacancy.. but we asked for a room for the next nite .. a Sunday nite. and got one booked. we asked for a room on the bay side.... More

I had looked at this place on-line, and thought by the tiny thumbnail pictures that I saw, it would be romantic and historic to stay here. When I arrived after 10pm after getting on the 8:30pm Port Townsend to Coupeville Ferry, I was blown away, but not in a good way. The white lights on the historic inn building was... More

This was my first stay at the inn. I did not mind the vintage charm of the inn and loved the view but strongly suggest it is time to replace a few worn out items. One trip to a store like Costco or Target would go a long way to replace the flat pillows, the toilet seats with bubbled paint,... More

We were very disappointed with our recent get-away to the Captain Whidbey Inn. I had purchased a 4-night, 5-day package through Amazon so we decided to make reservations right after Labor Day. Although the the food was great, and the staff were pleasant, it could not make up for the shabby accommodation, which ended up ruining our trip! We had... More
