We just got back from spending 2 nights there for our anniversary. I'm not sure if it was the time of year or not but our experience was very poor. The young woman at check-in didn't know anything and I completely blame management for this. She never mentioned anything about the contential breakfast which we learned at check-out was included... more

My wife and I, along with our five year old boy, stayed at Captain Whidbey this summer. It was a very good experience. We were traveling from one part of the state to the other or we might have attempted to stay longer. The price was very reasonable for the atmosphere. It was not necessarily kid friendly - it certainly... more

Plus: Very charming, romantic inn...just what we were looking for in our 1st trip to Whidbey Island. Very clean hotel. We stayed in the cottage and it was lovely. The food was tremendously fabulous, the wait staff and bartender extremely cordial and kind. Delta: It was suggested on several websites to try and "stay green" so we agreed to use... more

My husband & I did a "spur of the Moment" trip up to Whidbey Island ~ one night stay, The Inn states two night minimum ~ but they were more than willing to book us for one night. The room was clean, simple with a lovely lagoon view and a peak at Penn Sound, very peaceful and quiet. Bed was... more

loved the captain whidbey inn. exactly what we were hoping for - rustic, comfortable, amazing view. we booked a smaller garden view room but opted for an upgrade to water view room in the main inn that became available. got a decent AAA discount, around $150 (plus taxes, etc). room was very comfortable - OUTSTANDING bed and linens - quality... more

A lovely, quaint Inn in Coupeville on Whidbey Island, where stepping into the past is a reality. The rooms are small but delightfull and clean with simple but good quality dressing. The grounds are beautifully kept and lovely walks around them and the lagoon is somewhat relaxing as you listen to birdsong. Definately a place to visit. A visit to... more

A group of 18 from my ski club spent a wonderful weekend here. The venue was quaint and rustic with flowers and trees and the lagoon rooms were spacious. The large deck was perfect for our BBQ. However, The true charm of the place was the staff. Anything we needed they saw to. No request too small. Everyone had a... more

My husband booked a spur of the moment weekend getaway for us at the place that we celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary. It hadn't changed too much, it is still a quiet peaceful place to reconnect and relax. I did miss the restaurant, but the new owners are working on getting it up and running, they have spent alot of time... more

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Captain Whidbey Inn. The rustic features of the Inn (along with modern day amenities) amidst the incredible scenery, bird songs and views made for a wonderful overnight experience. I just love this place! My room was beautiful with windows throughout and the view spectacular. I highly recommend staying at the Captain Whidbey Inn! more

This is a significant historical inn with a perfect waterfront location just minutes from downtown Coupeville by car. We stayed in room number 6, which has an amazing Penn Cove view. The walls are very old round wood planks, so you hear your neighbors quite a bit. We had heater troubles and either froze or baked. The bed was too... more
