Yuk. A great concept and theme. However---beyond dirty! The bathroom was so gross the men opted to shower elsewhere! Every surface was sticky, the dishes were dirty! The carpet was nasty and we had no surface to put our baby on the floor. Worst of all: we sent a list of the concerns we had and to date have had... More

We couldn't even stay there! We should have known better. Because of the age of the buildings/houses they are very mildewy, moldy smelling and dusty. It would have wreaked havoc on my son's allergy and asthma condition. They very reluctantly agreed to refund a portion of the room as they have a 10 day cancellation policy. Who on earth has... More

We have a family of five and appreciate being able to have a kitchen when we travel. it is a shame that this place does not invest a few thousand dollars into a few decent amenities. The beds were so uncomfortable that my husband and i both have backaches now. I am going to send them a letter making a... More

Coupeville is beautiful, so are the beach and the lighthouse. The house we rented smelled like a very old, damp antique store. It was hours after we left before I quit smelling it on me. It was dirty and poorly maintained. Two of the bed pillows didn't even have pillowcases on them. If you set a magazine down on a... More

We stayed in the Doctor"s House, and loved it. There were 5 of us 1 was a teenager and one in her 70's. Would not be good for anyone who can't climb stairs though. I loved the charm of the old house, with the old comfortable furnishings, the beds were very comfortable. The house was very clean with plenty of... More

We rented unit #10 (the Doctor's House) at the Fort Casey Inn. We brought several teenage girls along for a weekend getaway at the beach. This is a 100 year old two story Victorian . There were two bedrooms and a bath upstairs and a living room & kitchen on the main floor. The house had a lovely front porch... More

The Fort Casey Inn sounded like an interesting place to stay and a relative had been there years ago and really liked it. The historic old houses were quite neat, but were rather empty (apparently some previous guests with sticky fingers forced the inn to minimize their inventory) and weren't exactly clean. The carpet was rather old and dirty (I... More

If you are a runner or like great walking/hiking this place might be somewhere you would want to visit. We stayed two nights in August, 2006 and went for two great early morning runs. It is a beautiful place to run. From the Fort Casey Inn you run through the park and within the old military fort. Because it was... More

A look at their Web site will give you the idea best. These old NCO's married quarters are part of an old army base that operated a huge gun battery on the waterfront. The houses are spotless with large kitchens and fine old porches for sitting out and enjoying the view and plentiful wildlife in the evening. Rabbits and deer... More
