We are on an extended camping trip and found ourselves in Yosemite in snow on Memorial Day weekend. We took the last Lodge room for one night and were delighted with the atmosphere and service at Tamarack. Room was small with full bath a few steps away but everything we needed was there. Great bed, Internet, heat , a very... More

Stayed at Tamarack in April 2012. Stayed in a cabin that was up the hill not able to drive to. We asked for a wood fireplace and wanted to be more isolated so they put us in a cabin that was hard to get too especially in the morning when all snow is now ice because it was warm the... More

We stayed here for a night as part of our honeymoon. The hotel is very rustic, not luxury, was great to stay somewhere with lots of history & character. In a private location with great views at the hotel and on the drive there. We had a room with a private bathroom, it was small, and was slightly on a... More

The hotel is very traditional and feels The hotel is very cosy with wood panels and an open fire. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. They made us feel very welcome. Our room was homely but the bathroom was too small with a shower that changes tempeture every 30 seconds. The room was very humid and they didn't... More

Our family has stayed at Tamarack Lodge for over 50 years. We have always found the staff to be very accommodating and eager to please. We currently stay in the deluxe cabins and find them to be very comfortable. The beds are comfy and warm. Linens are changed when requested and fresh towels and trash emptying happen daily. We are... I brought my family to Mammoth to stay at Tamarack Lodge. We decided to try one of the cabins. We had planned to stay in a "historic" cabin but the management kindly worked with us to upgrade us to a beautiful deluxe unit with a bedroom and loft with extra beds for our kids. The appointments and furnishings in the... More

For what we paid for a 3 bdr deluxe cabin, we were not only treated like we were imposing on the management, but crazy too for bringing things to their attention. I don't think it is unreasonable to expect a manager to not take issue with a broken and uncomfortable chair in the living room, but he did. The same... More

We read the reviews and were looking forward to both the lodge and the attached restaurant. We had a "deluxe" two-bedroom, which reportedly had been recently rennovated. Hah! Very dirty carpets throughout; all the furniture was run-down, scratched and scarred; the dishwasher pulled out of its cabinet; the sheets were nice, but duvee/comforter was dingy; great shower. The Lakefront Rest.... More

In December 2011, I visiting Tamarack Lodge with my wife, 3-year old daughter, and another adult friend of ours. We stayed in one of their deluxe 2-bedroom cabins, and had an excellent experience. The kitchen was the perfect size for our small group, and enabled us to cook all of our meals, which (since we're foodies) saved us substantially on... More

I did not actually stay here, however I had plenty of interaction with the front office and management. We had some car trouble and they were very helpful in our situation. I would image if you stay here they will go out of their way to help with whatever you need! And the lodge is wonderful and cozy with relaxing... More
