We went snow camping out in the back country in John Muir Wilderness for a night and then stayed a night at the Tamarack on our way out. Renting the 1 bedroom cabin with a fireplace was no mistake after spending the night in the show. The bedding was wonderful, soft and comfortable, a nice quilt on the bed. The... More

Just spent a wonderful night in Cabin 14 at Tamarack Lodge. With two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a full kitchen, cozy great room as well as a beautiful front porch that looks out on Twin lakes; you couldn't ask for a more ideal rustic escape. The main lodge is a fine example of true mountain chalet, a great gathering place for... More

We stayed here for a few nights during a recent weekend snowfall. Although some of our friends have raved about Tamarack for years, we always avoided it due to concerns about it being too rustic and a little away from town and the ski slopes. What a delight to find our sweetly furnished, small but welcoming little studio cabin, with... More

The Tamarack Lodge is the perfect getaway from the hectic life. The staff is friendly, attentive, helpful. Our cabin was a warm cozy spot to rest, relax, read in front of the fireplace watching the snow fall outside. No need to go anywhere else...they serve a continental breakfast in the morning, chili and soup for lunch, and the Lakefront Restaurant... More

These cabins are in a wooded location away from crowded downtown and village area. Great for outdoors, hiking, shoeing, cross-country skiing. The shuttle does service this area for transport to ski areas. If your a downhill skier or snowboarder, the village area may be more central for gondola to slopes. But if you want more scenic, Tamarack Lodge is a... More

My boyfriend and I have stayed here 3 times and we love it. We love it so much that we pretty much spend every anniversary of ours here. We typically get the studio cabin and I love it. It's perfect for our needs for a one bedroom, kitchen, bathroom set up. The accommodations are always clean and that's honestly a... More

They only have 1 updated/remodeled cabin which I thought I booked online via their website. Instead I got a "historical" cabin aka an old and out dated cabin. My reservation didn't specify that I ordered the deluxe so I was stuck with the old cabin. I was very disappointed considering I thought I was going to be in this nice... More

Dear Cbreyes, Thank you so much for taking the time to comment about your recent stay. I have investigated the issues about the web site and would like to clarify about the cabin type. We currently have 12 deluxe cabins in our 35 cabin inventory. Twelve deluxe cabins were completely rebuilt from the foundations up and were constructed over the... More

We stayed in a fireplace cabin for 2 nights at the end of January. We really enjoyed the proximity to the slopes; the area felt very serene and relaxing. It was amazing waking up to the snow covered lake and mountains each day. Try the hot cider in the lounge - delicious. We didn't use it, but there's a shuttle... More

I was visiting the Mammoth area and decided to go cross country skiing for the first time. I visited during a time everything was snow capped in white which added to the enchanted feel of the place. I went to rent skis and pick up a pass at the little cabin located outside the main lodge and I felt like... More
