I stayed at the Tamarack lodge and my confirmation page said $180 after taxes and fees. Then I was charged $115 a night for fees that weren't on the confirmation. I was extremely upset by this dishonest practice. Also an incredible hold of $514 was put on my account for incidentals I did not use. I was barely able to... More

Dear Matthew P,   Thank you for taking the time to review Tamarack Lodge & Resort on Tripadvisor, and thank you for taking the time for to speak with me earlier this morning.  I wanted to further address some of the things that we had talked about, and some things that we did not.   First, I think that we... Tamarack is set in an almost Disneyesque Sierra location. I've stayed in a cabin here and have eaten at the Lakefront many times and it's one of my favorite places, shared with family and friends, of all time. Stayed here in the Fall in a big 2-bedroom cabin (#14, I believe) that was comfortable and sported a great porch. It's... More

We just returned from a truly wonderful stay at Tamarack Lodge and Resort! The cabin was lovely, the staff so friendly and helpful and the Lakefront Restaurant so awesomely delicious! We ate at the Lakefront Restaurant every night - Chef Bobby is amazing! We are already planning a return trip in the fall and I will be returning for an... More

Rustic, cozy lodge. Don't expect high-end luxury... but rather quality, old-fashioned lodge experience. Excellent staff. Excellent food. Much better than staying at some fancy hotel. The main room in the lodge was a great place to meet other lodge guests. If you want to watch TV and play video games- this place is not for you. If you want a... More

We recently ran to mammoth on a wild hair after a storm dumped and this was one of the only places available within budget. Having never stayed here I hit the reviews and they were good enough that i booked a 1 Bedroom Deluxe cabin. I thought the lodge would be out of the way after getting there until i... More

We stayed there Feb 24th for one night. Although this is not their best winter.. the service at this lodge is great. We ate at the restaurant also. It is pricey but definitely worth going to . the elk medallions were wonderfully tasty and cooked to perfection. the lobby area is rustic with a fire place going at night. We... More

This January we stayed at Tamarack Lodge which is surrounded by beautiful lakes and mountains. Unfortunately, that was the only positive aspect I could come up with. When we arrived all the appliances in our room were unplugged. No light and power. Consequently, we had to spend the first hour on the floor and under the bed, to first of... More

On the twin lakes, spectacular views, beautiful fresh air away from california congestion, and close to the lifts. The resort itself was rustic and had an old ambiance some might call it charm of a log cabin. Others may call it a spooky haunted feel. No you did not hear or see any ghosts. You could just sense the building had... More

Tamarack Lodge has been in operation since 1924. I've been vacationing there for over 60 years. This place is paradise for me! So many memories of my childhood are wrapped up in the trees and hills and rowboats and cabins. Don't expect the lodge rooms and the "rustic" cabins to have the amenities of a Hilton Hotel—that's not what Tamarack... More

The "private" rooms are super small and way overpriced. Light housekeeping means you have to ask for service and toilet paper. Out room didn't get vacuumed at all. The shared bathroom didn't get cleaned in 3 days. There was dead spider on the men's washroom door for our full stay of 6 nights. The building is not historic, it old... More
