We read the reviews here before booking, and I'm glad we did - they were right on, at least about the Motel 6. It IS clean, at least the rooms are; the public walkways looked a bit worse for wear, but that's the fault of the people staying there (we were there during motocross week, unfortunately) and not the motel.... more

Basic motel accomodation probably typical of all Motel 6 but the room was clean and comfortable, although they were not able to supply us with a fridge of microwave dispite booking months in advance and staying for 5 nights. We checked in, and our room, although very tiny was fine...except that they heat didn't work (in December?), They promptly changed our room and it was a carbon copy of the other room, except that this time the heat worked....but only too well. We kept having to get up through the night to adjust the temperature and open the door... more

We were told one price and when we arrived they added $15 a night with out telling us. The beds were smaller than what we booked. I strongly suspect this is a bait and switch. Without a doubt one of the best Motel 6's that we have ever stayed at. The staff were very friendly as well as courteous, which made the stay that much better. I have to agree with most of the earlier posters. This place is basic as far as room amenities - it's a bring your own shampoo and facial tissue kind of place. But the room and grounds were in reasonably good condition and quiet. The location is quite good as far as being central to the town of Mammoth Lakes.... more
