I sit on the fence with this place – Basis of my review is that they could do much better, the staff were great but the inn is in desperate need of some TLC. A lick of paint and some general repairs would help a lot. Room – Stayed upstairs in the part of the inn near the main building/hot... more
Our heater went out first night of three night stay. Bruce got out of bed 10:30pm and brought a space heater. Definitely suggest staying in 1br upstairs unit. More room and nobody clunking around above. Daily breakfast and evening Happy Hour definite bonus. Read some reviews that weren't too flattering but we were pleasantly surprised. Usually stay in a 2br... more
We stayed here for three nights (Sun-Wed) on a ski trip in early Feb 2009, and we were pleasantly surprised with our stay. I had never been to Mammoth before, but when I started looking to book a hotel for this trip, I was struck by how overpriced Mammoth rooms are, given the seemingly-low quality of the accommodations. Staying in Mammoth is always a challenge especially on the weekends. This time we came up to Mammoth on a Sunday for a quick two day ski vacation. We decided to give the Cinnamon Bear Inn a try this time and we were pleasantly surprised. My only complaint is that the walls were a bit thin. We could hear the... more
After reading the reviews here on tripadvisor my wife and I decided to give the Cinnamon Bear a try. We are frequent visitors to Mammoth and are always looking for something new. The room I stayed in was up the stairs, around the back, down some stairs and then around the corner -- hardly easy to get to but so comfy. Huge bed with new linens, TV, great... more
This was the second time we had stayed at Cinnamon Bear...this time was as magical as the first! If you want somewhere that is cosy, welcoming, clean, affordable and where you are made to feel really special...then this is the place to be. Good conversation with owner Russ and new manager Bruce over cheese and wine in the early evening... more
Cinnamon Bear Inn is a traditional New-England style Inn, with a lovely proprietor and welcoming, cosy and very clean rooms. There is even a jacuzzi outside! When we arrived, there was wine and nibbles in the breakfast/greeting area, so we had a chat with the owner and a couple of other guests. Our room had a lovely and comfortable four-poster... more
What a great place to stay. Good accomodations with plenty of room. Our host Russ was just great. At 5 PM wine & cheese are served and good conversation. Breakfast was prepared & served by Russ. What a great time we had. more
