The Rock Creek area is simply a must-see for anyone who loves the Eastern Sierra, and we make a point to visit every season. Whether camping or staying in cabins, we've viewed it as one of THE places to see Sierra wild flowers during the mid- to late-July bloom. The drainage that includes Little Lakes Valley is not a steep,... More

We stayed in Cabin 6 during one of our week long Eastern Sierra trips. You really can't beat the location. Located above 9,000', it's a high alpine setting with great views, and its own creek (well...it's located on Rock Creek, which runs right by several of the cabins.) The setting is nice, but it is right across from a large... More

I stayed 3-nights at Rock Creek Lodge and enjoyed every minute of my stay. At 9,350 feet, it is a perfect place to acclimate prior to hiking at higher altitude. Just down the road there are several excellent trails to hike. Just steps away from your cabin is a beautiful stream where one can fish all day long. The employees... More

We were there for the week after Christmas. The week prior they had a huge snow storm (10-feet) and when we were there, another 2-feet plus! They snow-mobiled us up, but many opt for skiing in and out. The staff is very friendly and my 11-year-old loved the camp dog, "Pete." Other familes were staying there and during off times,... More

We stayed in one of the old cabins that they called modern cabin #13. It looked out on the parking lot and equipment shed. It was extremely run down. For example the bathroom fixture was hanging loose and I was fearful that it would fall down. The floor in the bathroom was falling apart and the wood was stuffed haphazardly... More

For years are friends having been telling us about staying at Rock Creek Lodge in the winter. We have hiked Little Valley in the summer and it is amazingly beautiful but always crowded. This year my husband ask me what I wanted for Valentines Day and I said a stay at Rock Creek Lodge. He was able to book a... More

We have been talking about going to Rock Creek Lodge for dinner forever. We finally ventured out 2 weeks ago. My husband and I brought our back country skis and skied up to the Lodge ( 30 -45 minutes on wide open cat track) and our two guests took an exhiliarating ride on a snowmobile to the Lodge. We were... More

Important point of information: Rock Creek Lodge is NOT in Mammoth Lakes, which is about a 30 minute drive north. That said, it IS located in Little Lakes Valley (turn west off Hwy. 395 at Toms Place), a spectacular alpine area with pristine Rock Creek running the length of it. The Valley opens as you travel up the road and... More

This place is fantastic! It is at 9,400 feet, and they snowmobile you in as the roads are not plowed. We had a modern cabin, which was very basic but clean. You need to bring your own towels and sheets (or a sleeping bag) because there are no laundry facilities. Do not expect hotel service, you're in the mountains-you need... More

We arrived on February 20, 2004 and were immediately mesmerized by the location of this lodge. You're surrounded by wilderness no matter where you look. Snow, snow everywhere and more coming down. The cabin we stayed was more or less filled with amenities such as refrigerator and gas stove. It had a bathroom with a bathtub. The kitchen was awesome.... More
