This property used to be a Marriott Courtyard; in Feb. 2021 it was rebranded as a Sonesta. The new folks did a fabulous job of interior remodeling. It looks like the work of a great decorator, and at a level of a 4-star property, even though it is a basic airport budge hotel. The rooms seem to be 100% new and it is impossible to tell it was an update of a 90s property. Sweet.

But there are some problems.
1. The hotel is seriously understaffed. Even at busy times, not only is there a solitary desk employee, but that person has some housekeeping duties to boot. When we arrived, it took 5 minutes for somebody just to fetch the reception lady.

2. The bistro is a joke. The food is all paid, nothing free. But even if it were free, it would not raise above the basic level of a Fairfield Inn. Miserable, few choices. You will need to go into town to get a decent cooked breakfast.

3. The towels are the worst I have ever seen in my life. The bath towel was just a disgusting disgrace. Paper-thin. Tiny. But worst of all, it seemed to be made of sandpaper. It literally scratches your skin when you try to use. What in the world were these folks thing of???

4. The thermostat in the room is disconnected, but they don't tell you that. To operate the HVAC unit, you have to figure out the control panel on the wall unit. We spend half the night overheated before we figures this out. Goofy.

5. Even though they have been open 4 months, the outside signage is some temporary taped-on lettering, stuck on to badly decayed original signs.

This all is very frustrating. The plusses are great, while the minuses could be readily fixed. But why are they not fixing them???

The Sonesta is cool, clean, modern, and inviting.

The rooms and bathrooms are large.

However, the staff is just "okay". When my girlfriend called the property to ask a few questions, the night auditor stated that there was a restaurant and bar. Yet, upon arrival, we were informed by the day desk clerk that neither of those entities would open until a month from now. In addition, although the staff was helpful, they certainly were not happy and they conveyed this in the words as well as their body language.

Be advised: The hotel allows for pets, which is fine, but since the desk clerks throw people in any room available, make certain to ask for a top floor spot. During our stay, a large dog paced all night long in anticipation of the arrival of his human companions.

In fact, one could hear noise from above, below, and all around, so beware.

I recently stayed one night at this Sonesta Select, my first time using this brand, and this hotel is a former Courtyard Hotel. It clearly was renovated and had the Courtyard decor prior to name change. The property was clean and nicely renovated. I did not like how there was only one elevator though, and it faces the rather tiny pool, so if you want to use it, there is no privacy.

Check in was easy, staff was friendly, and I has a corner suite with a huge balcony, with very comfortable seating, although some highway noise. In the room I couldn't really hear it which was good. I had room # 302.

I skipped the (very) expensive breakfast options and went to the Dunkin across the street instead after check out. My only issue was my shower had NO shower gel and had 2 shampoos instead. Luckily I had my own soap!

I booked early and got a great price and would definitely stay again. Overall the room was very large and comfortable, modern furniture, LOVED the super comfortable couch, and overall really enjoyed my stay! Great hotel, nice staff, clean rooms, and no issues gets 5 stars from me! I would definitely return and recommend to others!

We booked this place being that it was minutes away from the ball park where there was a sold out game that hubby wanted to see last Saturday. Finding this place is no picnic due to the invisible sign that should read "Hotel Road", and the fact that it's on an access road off of a sharp turn from the highway. Literally, if you blink you'll miss it. Add to that that there is no sign announcing the property until you get on top of it, and the sign itself is unlit and at eye level on the ground. Not helpful! Once there I noticed how dirty and littered the parking lot was, thinking that this wasn't a good sign. The interior of the place is pretty nice though, to be fair, and the rooms are decorated pretty closely to the pictures shown on the website, with the exception of colorful pillows. You don't get those...our room, which I specifically asked to be away from ice machines and elevators, was right across from the one, slow elevator and a very noisy ice machine which people kept visiting at all hours that night, and at 8 in the morning when we left. Add to that the slamming of room doors (not soft close doors) and running and shouting up and down the halls until after 11 that night. I was so tired from driving half of the day to get there (and find it) that I didn't have the energy to go down to the lobby and complain. I tried the room phone, which didn't work! Just my luck. They tout it as a 3 star but I don't see that. Yes, the lobby is pretty and modern, and the rooms are comfortable, and could have been very pleasant and restful if not for the aforementioned noises...also, the shampoo, conditioner, and soap are in communal bottles, hanging on the shower wall. The next morning I left there unrested and cranky. Today, upon looking at my checking account, I see that we were charged twice for that room, in two different amounts...I'm still waiting for the explanation to that from the manager. Until then, this is my review. I don't see this as being any 3 star property unless they raise their game.

I’ll start at the beginning. When we pulled up two of the staff were outside, masks down and smoking cigarettes. It didn’t get better from there. As we were checking in, the fire alarm went off. Nothing was explained. And no apologies made. As a result of fire alarm, elevators weren’t working. But again, nothing was explained and no apologies - just stairs at the end of hall.

The room smelled like stale cigarettes. It was late and we had a 3 year old, so we decided to let it go. And all was going ok until time for bed. The bed in the king suite certainly wasn’t a king. My husband, toddler and I didn’t fit the way we do at home. So, we went to make out the pull up bed… that had no sheets.

Then the worst happened. The fire alarm went off TWICE in the middle of the night. Did I mention I had a toddler with me? As a result, she didn’t sleep, we didn’t sleep, which was the whole point of staying in a hotel. Again, as we checked out no one inquired how the night was. And definitely no explanation and no apologies.

First and last time staying at a Sonesta hotel.

We arrived at 3:45 PM and were told if we wanted to check in prior to the 4:00 check in time, it would be an extra $15.00. She was very difficult to understand. Then, when we did check in, we were told there was a $5.00/night added charge for parking that we were not aware of. Around 9:00 PM, someone tried to enter our room. They said they were given the same room # & key. I tried to call the front desk and kept getting a message that the mailbox was full. I called reservations and was told, it is always like that, but they were eventually able to get me through. The lady apologized and said she had no idea why their system allowed that to happen. We also only had a sheet on our bed. We talked to a manager the next morning who also apologized and gave us a comforter for the bed. The room was very nice, but the security breech is a major issue. Breakfast was also very nice.

Teddy1081, thank you for sharing your experience. We're sorry to hear of the inconveniences you experienced during your stay. However, we do not have a voicemail option on our phone line and believe that you may stayed at the Sonesta ES Suites, not the Sonesta Select. Nevertheless, we appreciate your feedback and hope to host you in the future for a much improved stay.

My son had a baseball tournament close by. We were originally at a hotel up the road and after having a terrible experience with that other hotel, we were looking for another hotel at 9 pm. The hotels were pretty packed by that time with all the sports going on in the area. When I called Courtyard, the front desk associate was SO helpful and made it seem like it was no problem to help us out. It was appreciated greatly as we had a very busy day and were exhausted. The hotel is in a great location with dining establishments and Starbucks close by. The hotel is very clean. The rooms are large, updated and clean. The couch that was in with the King bed was the highlight of my son's stay as it was modern and "cool looking". They had everything we needed and it was a quiet, clean, and convenient stay. Very happy with Courtyard and will defenitly be staying at them going forward for tournaments.

This hotel was a former Marriott property, that was rebranded to Sonesta. At first I thought ownership didn't keep it in good condition. But I was surprised to see a modem room, with new furnishings inside. Very comfy bed and pillows. And for once the room chair was not an an afterthought and was very comfortable to use. Will stay again.

Very close to airport. Stayed here as I was going to a show at the casino which is about a 15 min drive (shouldn't be that long, but the Uber took a wile for some reason). The hotel is nice & clean. Room was nice. I don't like when the sink is outside the bathroom as that gives it a motel feel and lighting isn't as great in the sink mirror. But otherwise hotel was nice. They have snacks, drinks and alcohol for sale in the lobby kiosk.

Check-in was uneventful. Only one other guest in the lobby and few cars in the lot. King suite had nice furniture, plenty of USB ports, decent bedding and protected remotes. Towels were a little thin. Biggest miss was lighting. Way too dark to get much done, except at the sitting room "desk" underneath the TV.
