Let me first say- it's old. But it is charming and my room was very clean. We stayed for a girlfriends weekend- and all agreed that it was good. We had rooms over the bar which got a Little noisey but didn't last past 9pm. Other friends said they didn't hear it from their rooms. So I think it depends... More

The Riverview Hotel is a charming historic hotel located right across from the visitor center and ferry dock. Some might think the resident dog and cat are odd but believe me when I st that they belong there. If you are looking for historic hotel, this is the place to stay. The hotel an rooms are decorated beautifully and the... More

Had been through St. Mary's a few times and never took time to explore this quaint little city! Friend and I both enjoy historical places and B&Bs, so we decided this would be a perfect venue to celebrate our August birthdays. But for the fact that we hit the hottest "heat wave" in many years for that area, we were... More

We found this place because of a deal on Groupon, what a lucky find! Great Hotel, super friendly and helpful staff. It's a historic hotel, however, the rooms were a perfect mix of antique and modern. We stayed in the Poke McHenry room, which even though it's an "inside" room it had plenty of sunlight and never felt claustrophobic. The... More

Booked this place on a Groupon. It's more like a B&B and is very quaint. The people who run it are very nice and you can get a packed lunch for Cumberland Island in a returnable insulated cooler for $8.00, that was a fantastic deal. Knowing this was an older hotel I kind of expected what we received in the... More

I read the reviews prior to booking this hotel, so I knew what to expect. My husband and I visited Cumberland Island and this hotel is across the street from the park service building where the ferry leaves from, so it is very convenient for that purpose. This hotel is old, built around 1916 or so, and has a lot... More

My husband and I stayed here a long time ago, August 2005 in fact. But since I just joined this site I decided to see if it this neat, old place we stayed at was in here and it is! This is a REALLY old place, which was one of the main reasons I wanted to stay there. My mom... More

I recently stayed in St. Mary's to go visit Cumberland Island and other areas surrounding St. Mary's. The hotel is in a great location because it is right across the street from the ferry to Cumberland Island. The hotel is obviously older but it is in fairly decent shape. There are beautiful views from the exterior rooms and a nice... More

The hotel is definitely a great location for those visiting Cumberland, and the lunch is a great value with plenty of food. The hotel itself needs a lot of work, yes it is old, but there are things that simply need fixing. Our room was cozy, although we immediately had to turn on the a/c when we got there and... More

To take the ferry to Cumberland Island, you need to be at the waterfront by 8:45 am, so what better place to stay than across the street at this historic old hotel. The rooms are comfy, the ambiance definitely not a chain motel, and the barkeep is a hoot and a half. You get a $5 off drinks coupon when... More
