Lots of history there………..we were supposed to stay several nights, but this sleepy town is a bit too sleepy for us. There's not a lot of choices for restaurants. We imagine it was a thriving community before the paper mill moved out of that area.

Perfect old building, old school hotel, with lovely room, and awesome staff. Gives you a nice look into the local camaraderie, and customs. Friendly and enthusiastic staff, especially Kelly, who seems to run the bar and restaurant at the weekend, the hotel is everything you'd want when visiting this tiny sailors town. Definitely recommend it and will be staying again

This is an old quirky hotel in downtown St. Mary's. It is right across from the ferry to Cumberland Island. Perfectly ok, but not great. I think that the owners are tired of running it--friendliness is not a top priority.

Went to St. Mary's to visit my son who is in the Navy. Stayed at Riverview and it was exactly what I wanted. Since I grew up in Savannah I love the old buildings with all the character. Tall windows overlooking the water, hardwood floors, antique furniture, just perfect! On Friday's they have karaoke night in their saloon and all... More

This hotel was built in 1916 and has been family owned and operated since 1920. It is a historic hotel and shows it's time period. It is a quaint OLD hotel with an accompanying restaurant and a bar resembling the old West. The rooms are very clean and well maintained. The people are very friendly and willing to help you... Perfectly located for hopping the ferry to Cumberland, a stay at this 1916 hotel is a step back in time. The front door is always open; the hotel's pets treat you like members of the family; the rooms are clean; the showers are hot and the management is friendly but unobtrusive. Don't expect a cookie-cutter Hilton Garden Inn-type of experience... More

Well, this was just not the place for us. While we love old buildings and inns, this one seemed just a bit tired. Old and mis-matched furniture, slow plumbing, cramped spaces, peeling paint a smoke-filled bar. The location is certainly good, if you're traveling to Cumberland Island. But, if this is a destination on its own, you might just want... More

My friends and I stayed overnight at the Riverview Hotel prior to our ferry ride to Cumberland Island. Our rooms were amazing and the hospitality was wonderful. The Brandons' helped return some shoes left behind to us on the island. A++ service

After a 750-mile car trip it was a relief to arrive at the Riverview. Our rooms were clean & ready. We stayed for 2 nights to give us a day to explore the area before taking the early ferry to Cumberland Island. The couple who own & operate the Riverview could not have been more helpful, going out of their... More

This was our second time staying at the inn and we loved it all over again! So laid back! And the bar attached to the inn was fun! Lots of entertainment from the karaoke on Friday night! And it's right on the waterfront which is really nice. The inn has a deck on the top floor which is perfect for... More
