The hotel is definitely a great location for those visiting Cumberland, and the lunch is a great value with plenty of food. The hotel itself needs a lot of work, yes it is old, but there are things that simply need fixing. Our room was cozy, although we immediately had to turn on the a/c when we got there and... More

To take the ferry to Cumberland Island, you need to be at the waterfront by 8:45 am, so what better place to stay than across the street at this historic old hotel. The rooms are comfy, the ambiance definitely not a chain motel, and the barkeep is a hoot and a half. You get a $5 off drinks coupon when... More

The people at this hotel were awesome very friendly but, the hotel needs a lot of fixing. I was afraid to sit on the porch up stairs for fear of falling through the floor. All the boards were rotted. Not the best place to stay but location was great.

When looking for a weekend getaway for my wife, and I, we found the Riverview Hotel. The price was very good, and it was literally across the street from our intended activity, of visiting Cumberland Island. We were a little concerned after reading some previous reviews. It's a 100 year old hotel, in need of some TLC, but, it's clean... More

If you appreciate the feel of a B & B and when you hear the phrase shabby chic you think of chic then you need to stay here. We were in room #12 " Martha", small but well appointed. this is a corner room with 4 windows so a great view. This is the closet hotel to the Cumberland Island... More

I have stayed at this hotel 3 times now and would recommend it to anyone staying in St. Mary's Georgia. A great base for visiting Cumberland Island as the ferry is literally right across the street. This hotel has great character and very comfortable rooms and beds. Not a five star luxury hotel but if you like the simple life... More

Although the location of the Riverview Hotel is very convenient if you are visiting Cumberland Island, it does not compensate for the many negative aspects. The hotel is in a general state of deterioration and neglect. There were stains on carpets, chairs, bedspread, etc. There were holes in the porch floor covered with pieces of plywood. The eaves were rotting... More

We stayed here in "Martha's room". We liked the view. The room was very small but had a nice view and we weren't in it much anyway. Staff was nice. Great location!! Right across the street from the Cumberland ferry which was perfect for us. The parking says "2 hours" but we parked there for 3 days and never got... More

The hotel is very charming. The people are nice. They will make you a big picnic lunch to take to Cumberland Island. ($8) I liked the cats and dog lounging in the lobby. Our corner room had magnificent windows that open, and the cross breeze was glorious. I don't know if they are finished restoring the place yet, but it... More

My husband and I stayed here last weekend, we love this place. It is a old very quaint boutique hotel, well worn...much loved. Super friendly...will definitely come back. Only complaint is....this is not a good place for children that are not well behaved, the noises they tend to make running up and down the old wood floors and stairway can... More
