We stayed in the Crater-Lake-Lodge in Mid-May, when the North-Entrance was still closed, because of the high snow. The hotel has an exposed position and the public rooms with the sitting areas at the fireplaces are very cozy. But our room with a marvellous lake-view was quite small, sparsely furnished and without any convenience – even a hairdryer was missing.... More

The historic Crater Lake Lodge is a perfect example of why we usually stay in the NP cabins when we visit National Parks in the U.S. The lodge is beautiful inside and out with a perfect perch right on the edge of the lake but the room left a bit to be desired. It was very hot in southern Oregon... More

Having had a bad experience at a National Park Lodge on a previous trip we approached this Lodge with low expectations. En route we found a copy of The Complete Guide to the National Park Lodges, 7th Edition, which is a wonderful guide to both the lodges and the rooms to choose. Armed with this we knew to ask for... We have stayed at a number of different National Park lodges and naturally they tend to rely heavily on their premier locations at the expense, sometimes, of facilities. Crater Lake Lodge is definitely, in our opinion, one of the better available and not just based on its unsurpassed location on the crater rim. The public rooms are endowed with a... More

We went to Crater Lake for our anniversary. We enjoyed our stay at the lodge. Staff was friendly and helpful. What a view!! It was worth getting up early to see the pink colors of sunrise over the lake. It should be on everyone's bucket list. Don't forget to book the boat cruise on the lake!!!

I chose to stay at Crater Lake because it is the only place where you can be right on the lake in a hotel accommodation. All other places are away from the Lake. It offers stunning views, very pleasant rooms, an excellent dining facility, and access to a number of trails if you like to hike, as well as immediate... More

We booked our trip to Crater Lake a few months in advance--since we were visiting in late September, we were able to book a room. I can imagine that it's much more difficult to find a room during peak summer (or winter) season. That being said, it's worth whatever effort it takes, because this place is great. From the outside,... More

We booked 2 rooms for the last weekend that the Crater Lake Lodge was open for the 2014 season. The rooms were a bit dated (in a 1990's sort of way, not in a historic lodge sort of way). But the public rooms were fantastic. A cozy fire with lots of seating. The hotel was full, so not everyone would... More

Our visit was the night before the seasonal close. The weather was beautiful and the drive to the lake fabulous. Our loft room was cavernous with views of the valley and the lake met our expectations. Whilst the room wasn't fabulously well fitted out it was what we expected of National Park Lodge accommodation. Staff seemed to have had enough... More

We completely agree with Sandy L's review. We were booked for two nights (10/7 and 10/8/14). Although the main areas of the lodge and the setting were spectacular, the rooms were poorly appointed. Our room had a constant hissing sound from the pipes making it impossible to sleep. Furniture was outdated. Bed was uncomfortable. Although we had a spectacular view... More
