I called a couple of motels on my way into town and was surprised by the high low-season rates. My third call was to the Balanced Rock and the quote was less than half the others. It is right near a train track, which may bother some, but I had no issue with noise. Again, the cleanliness was outstanding, and... More

When we checked in, the people in the office were very polite and helpful. The room rate was around $50 for my wife and I. The room was clean and it appeared to have been recently upgraded. The bed was comfortable. The reason for a one star rating is that the next morning my wife took a shower and when... More

I have stayed here three times. The rooms are clean, large and well priced. Great value for the price. If you want fancy, this isn't your place. I am fine with basic , but clean. It's close to the highway and has plenty of parking.

We've stayed here several times and will return. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff (especially the woman owner/operator) bend over backwards to help you out and make you feel welcome. We only wish they'd put some effort into fixing things because the place is falling apart around them and they seem to be on the verge of... More

Mtn. biked the area. Motel is "biker friendly", with a convenience bike wash in the parking lot. Room was clean, well kept... nicely made up each day when we returned. Yes, did hear train... but it did not bother us. as you would have heard it to one degree or another for miles in any direction. Great rate compared to... More

We chose this motel because it was in the AAA guidebook. We were charged a reasonable flat rate that included tax. The internet signal was strong. The room was spacious and had a flat screen TV. The room was clean although we did see a spider. We could hear the dogs barking next door. There were danishes and coffee in... More

The property is not maintained well; the siding is literally falling off the building. The upper landing is carpeted and the carpet is worn all the way through which makes for a tripping hazard. The bed was uncomfortable and the pillows were flat. You could tell the linens had been washed but they were still dingy enough that we were... More

Pictures on website do not match actual location as it currently is. Not quiet, lots of traffic and very close trains. Concerns with safety of vehicle parked due to people walking in area. Motel needs repairs. Rooms clean. I was charged $60.

I stayed here last week with a buddy on a mountain biking guys trip. The motel was a great surprise. I was blown away with the cleanliness and comfort of the room. It was perfect for our trip. It was great they allowed us to keep our bikes in the room. The internet was fast (to stay on top of... More
