LOCATION Easy to find on the western edge of town, short distance from I-70. Supermarket and petrol station nearby and other amenities a short drive into town. Convenient for visiting Colorado National Monument. MOTEL Well presented inside and out. Front desk pleasant. Take away breakfast was limited; coffee, mass produced pastries and over-ripe apples and bananas. ROOM Stayed in queen... More

Recommended by the folk at Over The Edge bike shop and we weren't disappointed. Large rooms, a king size bed and an extremely clean bathroom for a very reasonable price. Breakfast is on the light side: coffee and individually wrapped pastries only but it's better than nothing. Would stay again.

The motel is not brand new. It was probably built before the freeway came through town. The property is in good condition as of the end of July 2014 however. Our room appeared to have been recently redone with new paint, carpet, tile, and bathroom fixtures. The room was impeccably clean. Frig and Microwave included along with free Wi-Fi that... More

This motel was wonderful. The ultimate destination was the Grand Jct airport the next day. Why stay in one of those computer designed corporate boxes for three times the money? This place was clean and comfy. The owner guy was great. Family business. I would recommend it to anyone who appreciates quality and doesn't need fake flash. We will definately... More

Clean. I mean CLEAN. Very affordable. I found the owners to be good people giving their best. If you want lots of flash, and amenities go somewhere else. If you want to support a family instead of a corporation, and want a really great deal, stay at the Balanced Rock. There is a large grocery store next door, and the... More

Fair price considering other hotels in Fruita were more than double. Female clerk was pleasant and helpful but when no connection was possible to the wifi the male attendant was less than pleasant. He refused to listen when I tried to explain that there was no network showing up to connect to and said, "deal with it. There's nothing I'm... More

I called a couple of motels on my way into town and was surprised by the high low-season rates. My third call was to the Balanced Rock and the quote was less than half the others. It is right near a train track, which may bother some, but I had no issue with noise. Again, the cleanliness was outstanding, and... More

When we checked in, the people in the office were very polite and helpful. The room rate was around $50 for my wife and I. The room was clean and it appeared to have been recently upgraded. The bed was comfortable. The reason for a one star rating is that the next morning my wife took a shower and when... More

I have stayed here three times. The rooms are clean, large and well priced. Great value for the price. If you want fancy, this isn't your place. I am fine with basic , but clean. It's close to the highway and has plenty of parking.

We've stayed here several times and will return. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff (especially the woman owner/operator) bend over backwards to help you out and make you feel welcome. We only wish they'd put some effort into fixing things because the place is falling apart around them and they seem to be on the verge of... More
