David and Phil have a gem here in Yorktown. On the river for astonishing sunrises and walking distance from unique lunch and dinner haunts. Plus wine, cheese and conversation on the patio in summer and by the fire other times. It is "a winner."

My wife and I just returned home from a weekend stay at the Hornsby House Inn. What a fantastic weekend it was. The hospitality of owner Dave Bowditch and his Innkeeper Kirsten was beyond anything we expected. From the beautiful Inn to the spacious comfortable bedrooms to the amazing breakfasts to the wine and cheese get togethers at 5:00PM, it... More

Beautiful location in Yorktown…lovely home, owned for generations by the family. What a delight to see the history of this family on the walls of this home. David, the owner, spends time with you, shares stories and is so knowledgeable about the history of the area. He has a great personality! Jamestown and Williamsburg are a short drive away so... More

Staying at the Hornsby is adding a special ingredient to a visit to Yorktown – the intangible imparting to the visitor of a sense of place, comfortable elegance, and our host’s graciousness and making one feel welcome. The experience staying here added incrementally to our enjoyment of our exploration of Yorktown, which is a destination overshadowed by Williamsburg and Jamestown,... More

This B&B is beautifully maintained, managed, and hosted. The home has an authentic "colonial" feel even though it is less 100yrs old because it was designed and built by members of the Colonial Williamsburg Restoration team. It is in the perfect location for accessing Colonial Williamsburg/Jamestown and the town of Yorktown as well as the battlefield park. The windows of... More

We stayed at Hornsby House while we took in the history of Yorktown and the American Revolution. The hospitality and the accommodations were impeccable. It is walking distance from the town, beach, restaurants and the National Park. Easily accessable by car or trolly also.

We stayed at this bed and breakfast this past weekend (August 8-10). Very nice accommodations, and a very helpful staff. If you are looking for a nice B&B in the Yorktown-Williamsburg, Va. area you will not be disappointed with the Hornsby House Inn. We very much enjoyed our stay, and you will as well.

Hornsby House was a lovely place to stay and we enjoyed the Innkeepers and the history of the home and their family as well. Breakfast was delicious and it was fun to interact with the other guests. The location is excellent. We enjoyed the archeologist's tour at Jamestown and also the driving tour of Yorktown. Hornsby House provided the narrated... More

A must read penned by Mrs. Marian Hornsby Bowditch (mother of David and Philip) in 1959 for her then 3 young sons and currently on display. It is obvious that even if they did not strictly obey said Articles back then, her no-nonsense approach to corralling a trio of rambunctious adolescents left a positive lasting impression. This was our second... More

We spent the weekend in Yorktown to celebrate our son's graduation from Coast Guard A-School which is just down the street from the Hornsby House Inn. The owners, brothers David and Philip Bowditch, made us feel very welcome, providing us with historical information about the area and sharing stories of their childhood home. The breakfasts were bountiful with bacon, eggs,... More
