My family and I have visited the Muleshoe for 20 plus years, at least twice annually. We have also volunteered at a number of the national parks and preserves nationwide as well as Muleshoe. I love the place. It's rustic, native, a place to find yourself in nature. I could see myself living out the last years of my life there. But unfortunately, the new managers don't really want people coming by. He told me outright that "they didn't come here to run a hotel, but to take care of that 53,000 acres back... More

We've stayed at Muleshoe Ranch twice and I can't wait to go back. The casitas are cozy and comfortable. It's a bit of a drive from Wilcox to the ranch, so bring your supplies. The area is very beautiful. We saw a number of birds, deer, and coati. All were right around the grounds. After a scenic hike we enjoyed sitting in the hotspring tubs. The night sky was also amazing. For having to schlep all your food, drinks, and ice out there is was more like a camping trip with a cozy place... More
