We have stayed from time to time in he hotel for maybe 30 years. It is a really pretty building inside and out, and fits so well with the Santa Barbara/Southern California mission architecture. But it has been allowed to slowly decline. HOWEVER it is still a reasonable value and they are trying at least a little. Since the last... More

After reading all the horrible reviews, I was prepared for the worse. What I expected wasn't so bad after all. We stopped by the hotel early in the day before checking in to let the front desk know we were in Ventura and the front desk clerk was happy to reserve a nice upstairs room for us. Later we arrived... More

We have been staying here at least once a year for over 6 years. This is an older Hotel that has been updating its property. It is a Mission Style hotel and is right next to Main St. It's just across a park from The Mission and has so many places nearby that you can walk to. You can walk... More

Booked this room through Hotwire. I looked at the reviews afterward and was a bit worried. However, this is a good spot to visit the area. It's one block from Main Street and one block from the beach. Yes it is older, but the bed was comfortable, the air conditioning worked well and it was quiet. They also had a... More

Older hotel well kept. Next to downtown, the mission, the pier, with freeway access nearby. Cozy lobby with comfy seating and a fireplace and television. Breakfast is served in the arboretum. (Didn't do breakfast so can't comment.) Elevators to the 2nd floor. Nice room; fresh and simple...mine had no microwave or refrigerator...didn't need them anyway...and without them there is no... Hotel location is great but security is bad, I was given the key to the room which wouldn't work, my husband went back to the front desk, but while I waited someone opened the door from the inside and said that the room was ready. We asked the front desk and they were not aware that this individual was in... More

I completely understand the "you get what you pay for" saying. I have however, stayed at quite a few places which were so much more pleasant than this place. Granted, we stayed on a Saturday night which I know weekend prices go up. The premises were not the most appealing ~ looking worn down and in a sketchy neighborhood. That... More

Overall, very happy with the accommodations and cleanliness of the location. Smack dab in the middle of Ventura so very walkable to several places (including the beach/pier). My group included an older couple who loved the architecture, furniture pieces, and the courtyard space. Two recommendations to the hotel: 1) Need to update the linens in the bedrooms (since one of... More

We stayed at this hotel for one night to attend a meeting in the town of Ventura. The Good: Location, Price. The Not so good: Older hotel that needs lots of updates. It was adequate for a one night stay and within walking distance of the town merchants. Nice if you want to go to town, eat, drink adult beverages... More

Visiting Ventura from San Diego we had a wonderful two night stay here and will be back again soon. Friendly staff, second floor private balcony overlooking a center courtyard/greenhouse with huge trees and nice breezes. Good old-fashioned hospitality. My wife and I enjoyed the Clocktower Inn and will recommend it to others. Bob P.
