We had stopped by the hotel after a long day of driving. We had seen it before - it's right on the beach - but never had elected to stay there. The room was priced at approximately $150 with a third floor balcony, affording a wonderful view straight to the sand, the water, and the stars above. The hotel is... More

Very nice stay at Inn at the Beach". Only negative was the bulldozer's moving of sand right behind our room, no one's fault, just unfortunate timing. Very comfortable, "at home" feeling. Service at front desk very friendly, and informative when asking about a potential "coastal" move.

My husband and I just spent 3 nights at the Inn on the Beach in Ventura, CA. We had lived in Ventura for many years and were familiar with the fact that the hotel is right on the sand, but I had never stayed there. What a great experience: from the front desk personell to the delicious coffee and huge... More

My husband and I stayed there for my birthday over the weekend of February 11, 2012. I have to say that after reading through all of the reviews today, they must maintain 1/2 of the rooms in a reasonable fashion while leaving the other 1/2 in poor, run down condition. Either that or the reviewers who gave this place anything... More

We arrived late afternoon and managed to be upgrated to a room on the first floor for the price of a ground floor room. The view from the room was stunning. We woke up the next morning with dolphins swimming along the coast. Breakfast was some HUGE Danish pastries, which each could have fed an entire family. The room was... More

We were on vacation just after Christmas in 2011. I think our room number was 317 or 307? Terrible awful room. Last one on the parking lot side down by the elevator, third floor. By the way, the room numbers are written in Sharpie on tape on each door. That should've been my first clue, as if the torn up,... More

This used to be a really nice place to stay. I love being right on the beach. When it was remodeled several years ago, it was beautiful. Fireplaces put in. Will never stay there again. My room (307:$200) had a great view, but it was not worth the dirty room. Bathroom door was just filthy. Did not want to touch... More

We enjoyed the Labor Day weekend in beautiful Ventura attending the Ventura National Car Show, exploring the city & playing on the beach. The rooms were clean, the staff was helpful & the location was awesome. There are several restaurants within walking distance as well as a grocery store. It has the beach culture atmosphere, but the rooms are clean... More

I can't believe this place hasn't been shut down, dirty rooms, broken bed, broken bathroom vanity, broken tiles on the fire place, I was frighten to sleep. Not to mention the bed was soooo uncomfortable. The place is creepy like they could film a horror movie. If you feel that having homeless people sleeping right next to the hotel then... More

California is different in every way and beach hotels are no exception. Having grown up in the central valley and having had many beach vacations in this area as a teen, I already knew what to expect. But also being a world bussiness traveler as an adult I can also easily see someones disactisfaction with your average Central California beach... More
