We were visiting Ventura to go sea cave kayaking off the Channel Islands and stayed at the Ventura Beach Marriott. We checked in very late, since we had flown into LAX, flight was delayed, and then had to drive up to Ventura. It was about 11:50pm when I was checking in, and I asked whether we would be charged for... More

Hotel is looking worn, but it is worth $100- $140 range. 4 blocks to the ocean and state park is right across the street. Good access to bike path. $13 per vehicle parking is a rip-off. There is a lot of on street parking 1-2 blocks away and neighborhood is safe. Recommend you walk 5 blocks to the Seward Avenue... More

Dear johnny_winter, Thanks so much for taking the time to leave your review. While it is never our intention to disappoint a guest in any way, our parking is indeed competitive with other full-service hotels that offer the same location so close to the ocean as well as our range of services and amenities. But if we were not able... More

I had a wonderful time at the Marriott, Ventura Beach. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The breakfast bar was clean and the food was really good. The gentlemen in valet were fast and helpful. The room was clean and my friend and I loved the pool and spa!

I stayed there for a week for a conference recently. On the Monday after I checked out (on Friday), my credit card was charged over $50, though my bill said I owed $0 when I checked out. I called to figure out what the charge was for, and I was repeatedly told that they 'have no record of it' and... More

Dear Dlphz, It is our standard procedure -- as well as with most other major hotel brands -- that each guest establish credit with the hotel at check in. If paying by credit card, we require an authorization in the amount of full room and tax + estimated incidental charges (approx. $50/day). This is never a charge, it is an... More

It's close to the beach for early morning runs (200 yards from a jobbing/walking path), friendly service and a good workout facility. If you're a marriott member and have access to the concierge lounge, the breakfast is great. IT may sound silly, but the bacon they serve is to die for which is saying a lot for a hotel bfast.... Dear Cody S, Thank you for your review and please note for a future return that we do have a renovation scheduled for later this year. Went to a conference and stayed at Ventura Beach Marriott in January 2014 for 5 days. Everything was ok, room was clean, housekeeping did a good job, waitstaff was courteous, food was ok. The only thing that takes off 2 stars is, in this day and age, charging for WiFi is lame. For in-room WiFi access, they charge $9.95. But... More

Dear Trip Advisor user, We thank you for taking the time to respond about your stay with us in January and are glad to hear that almost your entire experience at the hotel was pleasant. As an attendee of the conference which did in fact include in-room WIFI, the $9.95 fee was to be adjusted off of your bill prior... More

I recently stayed at the Marriott in Ventura. If you are staying here, it is generally between the Crowne Plaza and Marriott. My coworker had some nights at the Crowne and Marriott so there is a comparison to be made. Marriott: - Lots of parking. Even on a full night, there was no issues. - TVs and beds are really... More

it was dirty outside -- and the room next door was noisy and while I waited to get my room at the front desk, another guy walked up, paid the same amount and got a better room in front of me. I was disappointed and felt I could have gotten a better room myself but they told me it was... More

I was here for a Gordon Conference and thought that the hotel was pretty nice. Very quiet and the room was in good shape. The staff was incredibly friendly, in fact most of the maids said hello to me every time they saw me, which is very unusual. Conference area was nice and the food was decent. Only a block... More

The hotel has nice common areas but the rooms need some refreshing. The fitness center needs a real update - the machines are old and the ceilings too low. The concierge level is nice. The location is good and the staff are helpful. Overall a decent hotel.
