First of all.. to all of those who complain about noise from the nearby highway: Do your research. When a hotel is conveniently located off a MAJOR highway, this is what you get. My girlfriend and I booked a room at this local legend of a location prior to reading any reviews or ever visiting the property.. despite us both... more

I used to live in Ventura and was visiting my old hometown. I picked Pierpont b/c of the good: 1) location is excellent. The beach is right across the street. Downtown Ventura is 5 minutes away. If you need to go to the FAirgrounds for any reason, this is a perfect hotel. The outside of the hotel is very well... more

Location is good...a stones throw from the ocean, Ventura pier, and some really cool parks. However, the hotel is literally also a few hundred feet from US 101....not the quietest place I've been! The rooms have "charm" to some...but to me, they're outdated, musty, and in need of a major hotel chain to buy the place out and re-gut all... more

I booked a room at the Pierpont Inn this year after reading fabulous reviews on TripAdvisor. However, I was very disappointed. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and the outside of the hotel looks quaint but when we opened the door to our room I thought "You gotta be kidding me!" The furniture was garage sale quality or worse, the mattress... more

I was really looking forward to 2 nights in this Historic Landmark Inn, but was disappointed by the noise level from Hwy. 101. The grounds are nice & so are the people - bed was comfortable - but I will not stay there again because of the noise level pretty much everywhere. They did give me $25 off my stay... more

I have visited the Pierpont Inn every year for the past many years. I was surprised this year to see small omissions that matter to me. The breakfast was embarrassing: a platter of fruit (the watermelon was well past its prime), a platter of cheap pastries,a few cereal boxes, some yogurt, and pitchers of orange juice and milk. There used... more

The pictures on the website are enticing. The place looks like a resort getaway, quiet and secluded. But when you get there, you realize there's one big problem. Between the hotel and the ocean is the big, loud highway. I couldn't even find the path to get to the ocean. It's nice and quiet once you go in your room... more

My wife and I are a racially mixed couple and had arranged a stay here while planning a trip to the Channel Islands. The place looked great, but we had two questionable experiences: After I had shown them my day pass to use the gym (and after I had been working out for a few hours), a staff-member came by... more

We were in Ventura for the night with our one-year-old and were enticed by the charm (aka: age) of the Pierpont. We had heard good things about the place - particularly the restaurant, where we would be having Mother's Day brunch the next day. As we arrived, we saw that the grounds and the lobby have a lot of charm... more

Loved the Islander package we purchased. It included welcoming basket of fruit, cheese and wine, Saturday breakfast, box lunch for our included trip to Santa Cruz island, Saturday dinner, Sunday brunch and access to their athletic club. Loved the landscaping - flowers, ferns, fountains everywhere. Loved the 1910 built original Inn with its Craftsmen architecture. Loved the gigantic kingsize dense... more
