Ideal location and good value for money in central NYC. The room was clean and quiet; we didn't even hear street noise. I took the advice of many reviewers and requested a room on a lower floor. I didn't find the elevator waits that bad, though they get crowded at times. The room doors are probably due for replacing; I... More

I recently stayed at this hotel on a business trip to NYC as the place I usually stay was booked. I was a little apprehensive at first, but this places turned out to be pretty nice. Staff were very friendly upon check in, the public spaces were very modern and clean, and the air conditioning was working very well on... More

We just came home after 3 nights at this La Quinta Inn. This is a great hotel in terms of location and easy walking to many places, including Herold Square subway. The staff is friendly and helpful, the lobby area is spacious and nice, the room, although small, had all the amenities one would expect from a more expensive hotel:... More

Dear JeanneVirginia, Thank you for your review. We apologize for the street noise and the elevators. The elevators can get a bit held up during busy hours of the day. We hope to have the opportunity to host you again soon. Liz from Apple Core Hotels More

Had a four night stay here and all in all an excellently located hotel. Reasonably priced for New York too. We booked a non smoking, king bedded room and that is what we got, the room itself was a little on the small side but more than adequate, it is New York after all, and the room is just for... More

The room itself is more than adequate: bed big and comfy, feather pillows, excellent water pressure in the shower. Very clean. Staff is friendly and helpful. On the down side, the two elevators are tiny and slower than slow. And the room air conditioner is beyond loud with a constant mechanical rumbling sound. Regarding the location, I can't find much... 6 weeks ago I reserved a King Non-Smoking room. A week later I called the actual hotel and confirmed my reservation was for a KING and a Non-Smoking room. I was guaranteed my reservation was there. Arrived on 13Jun to check in. Was given the key to my room. Had to discover myself that my room was a Queen. When... More

Dear Julie M, Thank you for your review. We’re sorry you had an issue with your reservation. Unfortunately, when you book via La Quinta’s website reserving a non-smoking vs. smoking room does not guarantee you will get that room type, though we do try to honor the guest’s request. We understand and agree that this is very frustrating, but it... More

My wife dragged me to NYC in October 2014 as she has always wanted to go. I was less than happy to be going to a big city on our only holiday last year but we had an amazing time! The hotel was great! Only two complaints so let's get them out of the way first, the door to the... More

Second time in this hotel and just as the first time, it was a very good option. It was recently given a facelift, the lobby looks modern and appropriate for any business traveler. Location, service and rooms are great for the price.

We spent one night in the La Quinta and found it to be on balance an acceptable alternative for mid-town Manhattan. It is an older building that has been upgraded. The common spaces are stylish, but the hallways to the rooms reflect the age of the building. We found these factors as favorable: Price – The cost was one of... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
