Excellent hotel; a rich lobby welcomes visitors. Friendly staff are ready to assist visitors at checkin. The wow factor doesn't quite translate to our room. Clean but not so exciting. The standard rooms are not huge so twin share can be a little compact. There was air conditioning - it was a bit loud but did the job. There were... More

We got a room here on a 'secret deal' on expedia and paid a very reasonable price. After the name of the hotel was revealed, I checked the reviews here and was a little worried at what we had gotten ourselves into. Well, the location was wonderful. Close to the heart of Manhattan, yet just far enough from the hustle/bustle... More

Great hotel in amazing location. Rooms not the most modern but spend so little time there it doesn't matter! Make sure you visit the rooftop bar, get there when it opens or book ahead as it fills up quickly. Keep an eye out for entrance to grand central right across the road, we didn't spot it and only twigged when... More

Second time staying at this hotel. Love the style. Fantastic entrance and reception. Have managed to keep the history. Need to pay attention to the rooms - clean but bathroom needed attention probably the original bath tub ! Concierge (Maria) very helpful. As a fan of the series MadMen - Bar serves a fine Manhattan and Old Fashioned. Would stay... More

Definitely paying for the location. I expected a little more wow factor. It was needing a little upkeep. There was no fan/vent in the bathroom (towels stayed wet and musty) and the ice machine and pop vending did not work (walked 2 floors to find one). I did like that it was a room with 2 double beds (not standard... More

We loved this hotel right in the middle of town. Just a short distance away was the 5th Avenue fashion stores, St. Patrick's Cathedral, Rock Center, everything. I stayed there 30 years ago and it is still a wonderful hotel. The room we had was large for a NYC hotel. By the way, in watching their web site, we went... More

Teddy would be turning in his grave! This hotel is most definitely not a 4 star in my view. Certainly charging 4 star prices. The main lobby is a nice place but that is the only nice thing about it. No space to open luggage in the tiny room, no free wifi, no minibar, no coffeemaker, loud air con, dirty... More

This hotel was very nice and in a central location. It is the perfect place to stay for a weekend visit in NYC. It is very close to grand central which was very convenient. The employees were very helpful and friendly. I would definitely stay there again next time I visit the city!

We stayed here for our wedding in NYC. It was a nicely presented hotel, big lobby, plush bars, but once you go upstairs, its a bit tired. We found the reception staff to be a bit abrupt and aloof. The waiting staff were excellent ,as were the room cleaners. We like it, but it was a bit of a 'no... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
