Location, location, location. That's about the only outstanding thing I can say about this hotel. At 45th and Madison, it is right across from Grand Central Terminal and an easy walk to Fifth Avenue, Rockefeller Center, St. Patrick's Cathedral, Bryant Park and the list goes on. But our dated room left much to be desired, and some other factors contributed... More

We spent a week at The Roosevelt in January, 2016, and enjoyed our stay. The hotel is conveniently located just a few blocks from Grand Central Station. The common areas of the hotel are very nice with a classic look for the 1920s. The lobby bar is nice and there is plenty of seating in and around the lobby area.... More

Very nice staff, but very tired property. Kind of reminded me of the shining, which I guess is kind of cool depending on the way you want to look at it. Hallways were straight out of a horror movie... Again, kind of cool depending on the way you look at it. Just a tired property that needs some TLC, friendly... More

Visiting as an ex-New Yorker living in Dallas for the last 20 years, I loved the location, ambiance and low seasonal nightly rate. Small but very adequate room. Room service was prompt, although a little pricey. Negative reviews of hotel staff is somewhat understandable-it's New York-Sometimes you just have to try harder to get a positive response from people-but I... More

We came home from NYC today (5th Feb) after spending 7 days in the city, we stayed in the Roosevelt after booking with Virgin holidays. The hotel is on 45th & Madison which makes for a good base to venture out for sight seeing. As there was 7 of us in our group we was going to book a mini... More

Beautiful hotel but disappointing reception staff very unhelpful and miserable when we arrived which is such a shame. No smiles it was as if we were a nuisance arriving!!!! Also found certain bar staff unfriendly and rude.... Shame as the hotel lobby is breathtakingly beautiful we thought we had landed on our feet on arrival until we checked in!! Hotel... More

Its a typical old fashioned Hotel in Manhattan. Amazing when you walk in, very grand and some beautiful area's. The check in was fine. They had lost our reservation but no fault of their own, it was sorted. The staff were very nice and catered for us the best they could. The bar was really nice too, not crazy expensive,... More

Hi Everyone, overall this is a perfect hotel in an ideal part of Midtown Manhattan, lots of character, steeped in history. we stayed in room 989 on the 9th floor, the cleanliness of the room was perfect, situated just across the landing from the ice & vending machines, it was a queen size bed which for my wife and I... I have stayed at this hotel 3 times now and the experience is always positive. Staff is extremely helpful and hotel is ideally located for all NYC points of interest. I was in the City for business and although looking to check in early, was accommodated without hesitation!!

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
