The Roosevelt is a hotel with some charming features and architecture. However, it has lost the glory that you can see was once there. The hotel is badly in need of a renovation. Our room had towel bars pulled out of the wall. A toilet in need of repair and a fire alarm literally hanging by wires. Service was mixed... More

To sum up our stay in a word... Disappointing. We needed to book a hotel for 1 night before going to the W. So we thought we would treat ourselves and stay at the Roosevelt. The previous year we walked in and liked the look of the lobby plus we watched Mad Men and Don Draper stayed here. We stayed... More

Not recommended. Very old hotel in disrepair. At bottom of barrel. Grand lobby very deceiving. Invroom, nothing works properly, pillow hard/poor sleep, in disrepair. K at choice. Only stay if absolutely no alternative.

Stayed as a couple as part of a Titan Holidays touring group for 2 nights. Room was not large but beds were comfortable. Breakfast was excellent although service was not great. Best thing about this hotel is it's location and grand lobby area. Did not like having to pay extra $15 per day for WiFi.

Stayed 5 nights at the Roosevelt. A once grand hotel, now is a bit ragged around the edges. The staff was very friendly (don't forget to tip) and the room was kept spotlessly clean. Enjoyed hanging out at night at the downstairs bar with all the other tired tourists. The Roosevelt is centrally located and walking distance from Times Square,... More

When I generally book a hotel I go for the modern looking ones that have good reviews. I took a risk with The Roosevelt because it was in a good location, costs were reasonable and the reviews varied. When I say average it really was an average hotel... Don't be fooled by the beautiful lobby and we'll dressed staff...I wasn't... More

This hotel is ideally located for easy access to Grand Central station from were you can get the subway. Turn left out of the main entrance and enter via the Met Life building just 2 minutes walk, Location is It's only plus point. Very uncomfortable double bed which dipped badly in the middle. We complained and changed room but the... More

This was my first time in the United States. I was in New York with a group from New Zealand. We were here for six days to attend a conference approximately 45 minutes east of New York city. We stayed at the Roosevelt for 2 nights, i.e. the first night of our visit, and the last night. The location is... More

Perfect location - an ok hotel. You can tell it's getting a bit old, but in NYC you'renot supposed to be in your room too much :-) A big thanks to Doris for all her help. We were 4 adults in a small room, but she vas very kind and upgraded us.

I've just had the privilege of staying at the Roosevelt for a 4 night stay with my parents, both of whom are elderly and mobility impaired. Well, the Roosevelt only excelled themselves. They very kindly provided a wheelchair for my Dad and not only that, but allowed my parents to use their breakfast vouchers upstairs in their bedroom, which we... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
