I stayed at the Roosevelt for one night after having been recommended by friends. The rooms are quite spacious and well-maintained. There is no minibar, the rooms are airconditioned. Wifi is not free of charge and at a rate of around 15 dollars, I would recommend investing in a prepaid sim card with data traffic instead. I arrived at the... More

After reading some of the reviews, I was apprehensive about our stay at the hotel. The room was clean and not as small as I thought it would be. Bed was comfortable and felt like a new mattress. We were on the 45th Street side and the noise level was pretty quiet for a NY hotel. Staff was very pleasant... More

We loved staying at the Roosevelt, the rooms were large and the staff friendly. The rooms could use a little love, but as it's a more antique style hotel it really didn't bother us. Our only gripe would be that you had to pay a considerable amount for 24 hour blocks of wifi, which we felt really wasn't worth the... More

There seems to be a new trend of asking for tip blatantly in New York, or may be I was just blind to in. Carrying my luggages to the check in desk and dumping it there for me to carry it to up my room does not warrant a tip. I was so annoyed to find out later that the... More

It is NYC... I think that this is just the typical situation - old, classic and in an excellent location yet ridiculously priced when compared with the rest of the world once you see your room. The lobby is grand, gorgeous and timeless. The room (6th floor cozy double) was dated, grimy and dark. For $438, this was the cheapest... More

The only positive is that the lobby is nice- aside from that this place is a dump. -No hot water, -Cracks on walls and in bathroom -Broken tile in bathroom -Old - smelly shower curtain in bathroom -Windows so dirty that you can barely see out of them -Old dingy carpet -Concierge is aloof and slightly rude I feel as... We were in NYC to see a show at Radio City Music Center. The Rockefeller was within walking distance. Our room was clean, the bed was comfortable and it was quiet. We were well away from the elevators. I did miss having complimentary coffee in our room or in the lobby. The bathroom was small but adequate. No place to... More

The Hotel was had a charming feel to it and the staff where really welcoming. It was my wife's 50th birthday and our booking agent let them know that in advance we were hoping that they would do something to recognise this. They didn't . They did upgrade the family in front of us as checkin was delayed due to... More

I liked this hotel, it certainly isn't modern and has some faults but overall we enjoyed our stay. The location is very good and easily accessible from the subway and JFK. We had a room with two twin beds, very comfortable mattress and linens. The bathroom was small and needed some updating, enamel peeling off the inside of the tub... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
