We stayed at the Roosevelt hotel Feb 2014 for a 5 night holiday. Hotel lovely, first room we stayed in had no hot water and TV didn't work so they moved us to the room next door! Much better and it also had a fridge and we got a complimentary breakfast. The hotel is round the corner from Grand Central... More

My wife and I attended a conference here this past weekend and impressed was so far from what we experienced, you would need a telescope to find the dead carcass of where impressed use to be. First off, when entering the Hotel, there is no ramp for patrons with baggage. There are lifts, six total to be exact. In a... More

I had read several reviews both on TripAdvisor and Hotels.com AFTER I had booked the hotel and I was a bit dismayed from reading a lot of negativity. However, this hotel was a fantastic hotel, and it was a great experience there. I had no difficulty checking in/out - it was super fast and the staff very friendly. They also... More

As others have already said, this hotel is in a great location and the lobby is charming. But many of the rooms have been neglected for way too long. I have heard that they are renovating them soon. Until then I would look elsewhere.

The two best things about this hotel are the location and the lobby. Both are fabulous. The room is a little sad, tho the bed is comfortable. Have you ever seen carpet used as baseboard? It's not an attractive design option. Quality (or lack thereof) shows in the details; bathroom caulking is thick and ugly, grout is yellowed, wallpaper is... More

I stayed with my family at The Roosevelt Hotel for four nights. The lobby gives you the impression of an amazing hotel, but honestly, I was very disappointed. The hotel won't give you any wifi unless you pay something like 15 or 16 American Dollars per day. It was seriously awful. Who actually wants to pay that much for a... More

This hotel is in perfect location close to times square and empire. Great pizza shop around corner!! But room was a little small for my taste. Not a bad choice overall . Next time visiting I might try a different hotel. Wish they had refrigerator in rooms. Very friendly and helpful staff! !

Stayed for 6 night July 2015. Rooms are okay although in need of redecoration. Bathroom had huge chips in the enamel in the bath, bath shower loose from wall. Mould on the wall. I would not recommend this hotel other than for the location, there will be better hotels in this location. View was into rooms opposite not Manhattan as... More

The lobby is absolutely beautiful. Otherwise the hotel needs a good update. The rooms were clean but are very outdated. There is no doubt this has the potential to be a very nice hotel, but an investment needs to be made in the rooms. The fact that Wifi is not free is also a downside. Free Wifi is an expectation.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
