The hotel is located in the center of the city. Walking distance to a lot of major attractions. Especially convenient for late-night Broadway shows. A lot of good restaurants nearby. The hotel itself needs some upgrade. But it is a good price for the location. WIFI is charged, even in the business center and lobby.

A family with 3 young kids, visiting NYC for a short 2.5 days/3 nights - We arrived several hours after check-in time and still had to wait an hour for our room, in the lobby with all of our luggage, after traveling all day since 5 am - When we finally got to our room, the keys did not work... This hotel and the people that work here are fantastic. we have staying in NYC before but usually stay at Salsbury. Decided to try the Roosevelt. What a great choice absolutely old charm and beautiful hotel. We had fantastic service from the belman to the concierge. We dropped off our bags before check in and they kept them till we... More

The hotel was in a great location, central to Madison Avenue and Grand Central Station. Couldn't have wished for a better location. 15 minute walk to Times square. Receptionist and Door men couldn't have been more helpful. The only reason I haven't marked it as a 5/5 is because of the tired feel to the hotel, it really could do... More

We stayed at the Roosevelt in July 2015 for five days. The location is great for visiting in and around Manhattan. You can walk almost anywhere, or jump in a cab -there are always a few waiting in front. The staff was lovely, from check in to the wait staff in the wonderful lobby bar. And the Lobby! Such a... The lobby was spectacular. It has great character and is in great shape. I found the staff very helpful and pleasant. The room was nice and clean and in good shape. The lounge off the lobby was a nice place to sit and have a drink. The service was great. The location is great with lots of food choices close... More

3 nights here with my sons and it was great. Old fashioned charm as seen in a hundred movies. Like stepping back to the 30s, in a good way. Splendid food and perfect location near Grand Central and Times Square. But charges for the wifi? Cheeky!

When you arrive in the hotel you will be stunned by the grandeur of the lobby, this hotel has been décor of many movies and you will see why. That's also when the grandeur ends though. When we arrived after an intercontinental flight at 6pm our room wasn't ready, staff routinely gave us free drinks voucher and whisked us away.... More

This hotel has a great location. The lobby is beautiful. But that's really about all you can say. The rooms are very small, no Wi-Fi, elevators are nonexistent. For the cost you can definitely do better.

The entire hotel is very dated. I've stayed at better Holiday Inns. My room had stained towels; a deodorant cap was left on the floor; the decor was very dusty; the outlets on the lamps did not work; although the air conditioning was working the room didn't ever really cool down because the curtains blocked the air from moving beyond... Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
