Stayed at the end of a tour in Canada and the USA. The hotel is old fashioned and the only place to eat at night was the Madison Bar. The service was slow but the order of spicy meatballs followed by New York Cheesecake was tasty. The room we had was smaller than normal in the USA, had good WiFi... More

It was a last minute trip to NYC and were meeting people that were already booked at the Roosevelt. I ended up paying 200$ a night. Great deal. Beds were extremely comfortable. Bathrooms were old, not very clean (I had to call someone to clean it). It's a great place if you get a good deal and don't plan on... More

We were wowed by the extravagance, elegance and grandeur of the lobby as we entered the hotel celebrating 90 years!! The Hotel had a lovely old classical feel. It was absolutely stunning. There was a beautiful stairwell covered with printed royal-purple carpeting leading up to the impressive lobby. The lobby had high ceilings, marble pillars surrounding the Great Room, an... More

We booked the Roosevelt through hotwire to get a good price. The lobby is amazing and we were upgraded to a larger room upon arrival. The room was cute and it had an older feel to it. By older I mean vintage, not creepy Motel 6. We loved it! Beds were super comfy and so were the pillows. Yes the... More

I was in New York recently to attend a wedding reception at the nearby Yale Club. This hotel was comfortable, close, clean and had attentive and caring staff. Every staff member I encountered was professional and welcoming. My room was small but very adequate and clean. If I have one comment, I would suggest that the bath tub have grab... More

Room was clean and presentable. High floor so quiet. NY was v hot but aircon worked well. Not spacious but fine for 3 nights. Great location - 2 mins from grand central. Wifi v expensive at $15 per night per device so we didn't bother.

Rooms noisy and shabby. First room on 5th floor next to air conditioning unit for entire hotel, no double glazing. Horrific after a long flight. Finally, watch out for doorman scam with limo drivers outside 'he's got to do a pickup at JFK anyway'. Price agreed, $60 not what the driver insisted on later $95 with 'tolls', stop at an... More

Location and lobby are the only positives about this place. The room was terrible : tiny (even for NY), noisy and bugs in the bathroom.. Lot of new 3* in Manhattan are much much better than this place. I would rate it as a 2-2.5* at max.

Vreselijk hotel, niet doen. Bad hotel, don't stay there... Old and crappy. Wall paper coming down from the walls. Safe not working. Fauset broke, toilet kept running, etc. Dirty. Unbelievable that they can charge that kind of money... Okay, New York, but is that an excuuse for such an unbelievable crappy place?? Total rip off

My wife and I stayed on a Friday and Saturday night at the Roosevelt and found it to be a great experience. Like every New York City hotel we have stayed in, the room was small relative to other areas but it was well maintained and the bed/bedding was top shelf. The elegance of the lobby adds to the experience... More
