We stayed at the hotel thinking it was a pretty good hotel. The lobby was very nice...Then we checked in and everything went wrong. We were forced to sit in the lobby for 1 hour because are room wasn't even cleaned yet! Then the worst part cam THE ROOM. It was terrible it was extremely outdated and i found screws... More

The hotel would not confirm our bed request until we checked in and then suddenly had a room available that I needed with a huge upcharge! During the night a child staying with us got sick and when my husband went to the front desk to ask for some help with getting a drink and some crackers the attendant at... More

We stayed at the Roosevelt expecting a more than average hotel for my partners 40th birthday. We paid extra to stay here rather than in a cheap hotel due to the rooftop bar. The hotel was nice in the respect it had a lovely Art Deco lobby and the staff were nice. However i had emailed beforehand to request a... More

The Roosevelt is a hotel with some charming features and architecture. However, it has lost the glory that you can see was once there. The hotel is badly in need of a renovation. Our room had towel bars pulled out of the wall. A toilet in need of repair and a fire alarm literally hanging by wires. Service was mixed... More

To sum up our stay in a word... Disappointing. We needed to book a hotel for 1 night before going to the W. So we thought we would treat ourselves and stay at the Roosevelt. The previous year we walked in and liked the look of the lobby plus we watched Mad Men and Don Draper stayed here. We stayed... More

Not recommended. Very old hotel in disrepair. At bottom of barrel. Grand lobby very deceiving. Invroom, nothing works properly, pillow hard/poor sleep, in disrepair. K at choice. Only stay if absolutely no alternative.

Stayed as a couple as part of a Titan Holidays touring group for 2 nights. Room was not large but beds were comfortable. Breakfast was excellent although service was not great. Best thing about this hotel is it's location and grand lobby area. Did not like having to pay extra $15 per day for WiFi.

If you want a well located hotel then this place can accommodate, But if you look around then you'll find better for your Dollar in the same vicinity. The Place Just Looked Tired, Wall Paper Hanging off in parts of the room, The Lobby Hallways etc just looked tired and old, Walls like paper, could hear the people either sides.... More

Stayed 5 nights at the Roosevelt. A once grand hotel, now is a bit ragged around the edges. The staff was very friendly (don't forget to tip) and the room was kept spotlessly clean. Enjoyed hanging out at night at the downstairs bar with all the other tired tourists. The Roosevelt is centrally located and walking distance from Times Square,... More

When I generally book a hotel I go for the modern looking ones that have good reviews. I took a risk with The Roosevelt because it was in a good location, costs were reasonable and the reviews varied. When I say average it really was an average hotel... Don't be fooled by the beautiful lobby and we'll dressed staff...I wasn't... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
