We booked based on price and location and were not disappointed. For the price we paid, my expectations were exceeded. Yes, the furnishings could use an update but on the other hand, the place was clean and I will take old over dirty any day. We only stayed a single night for a quick trip to the city so not... More

After an exhaustive search, we found this hotel in our price range. It was really affordable for the excellent location, just a stone's throw from Central Park. You can also pick up a bus or subway entrance within 2 blocks. There was a great coffee shop nearby as well. Clean white duvets. Pleasant lobby and staff. Now, the downside -... More

I stayed here with my husband on the last part of our honeymoon. We chose this hotel because it was across the road from Central Park and close to the subway. It's also not far from the museum of natural history and the tour bus did a fairly close stop. The room was clean and free of any kind of... More

We got a room at the11th floor facing Central Park but filthy windows blocked the view, the carpet was disgusting and a chair's cushion was torn. Finally, the room had no air condition but an old noisy window unit so the sleeping quality was poor. In the positive end, the staff was friendly and helpful. While the location is close... More

I loved the location of this hotel - being on Central Park was a real plus for me. The beds were comfortable, the service was good, and the rooms were clean. We stayed in two different rooms - 2 beds (no view) and then 1 bed (view of the park). Both rooms were fine. They were roomy enough and had... More

Very good hotel for the price -- rooms small, but in NYC you never spend time in your room! Located close to the subway and central park, it's a great base for any trip to NYC! Room were clean, and the staff were incredibly helpful! Definitely recommend this hotel!

The service at Astor was truly terrific! They helped us locate the subways and provided maps with very good directions. When i ran to the next door convenience store and came back with a cake they asked what i was doing and i said that i had bought a birthday cake for my fiance. They gave me some candles and... More

My wife and I stayed here from August 4th until August 8th as part of the first leg of our honeymoon US tour The hotel itself is basic as it is an older building and when you first walk the corridors you wonder what you have let yourself in for. However the room although basic was very clean and the... More

The hotel staff were very kind but were unable to recommend places to eat and drink near the hotel. The lift was big enough for 3 people with suitcases but I recommend you wait for it if your on the top floors. The room was very small and the bed was right behind the door. The bed was the most... Backround info: I visited the Astor during peak season (Early October) when most of the moderately priced hotels on Manhattan were already booked. I booked my room for 5 nights on www.lmtclub.com where all they had left was a 2 twin bed option for $155/night. Since I was traveling with my boyfriend, I asked lmtclub to put in a request... More
