Spacious room, bed comfy with lots of pillows. Sitting area in room with couch and table, very nice touch. Decorated very sharp. Bathroom small but clean. Close to several subway stations. Centrally located for our needs. Very close to Empire State Building. Our room, #1201 was near elevator, so very loud, plus hall noises. Elevator runs slow. No view, only... More

The heating system in the room is super old, noisy and will not let you sleep (it will wake you up every 5 min). The hotel staff is not friendly at all, specially the front desk. When complaining about the room a member of the staff said "it is an old building, there is nothing we can do". For the... More

This is a beautiful, historic hotel built in the late 1800's and has an interesting history. We stayed here the week after Thanksgiving. This may have been why the rates were so high for the room we were in. Our room was very small but nice and very quiet. We had no view except for an office building across the... More

My 16yo daughter and I stayed here in Dec 14 We found it great value for money in NY, our room was large (for NY standards) Clean and very comfortable. Bathroom facilities were on the small side, but well equipped and again, very clean. The location is one of the best things about this hotel (apart from the history and... More

I've stayed here a couple times before, and would stay here again. So convenient to Penn Station and many subway lines. Not too far from Macy's either. It's close to everything but far enough away from the chaos of Times Square. The staff is very friendly and even called welcoming me back and asking if I needed anything. I've never... More

Stayed here for a short NY break. Husband got the hotel at a good price through Club Carlson, the best part was that we were upgraded to the 18th floor, whilst there wasn't much of a view (side window you could see them Empire State building if you looked up, and other window was just another building), the room was... Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
