This hotel is ideally suited for tourist activities. It's right around the corner from Macy's and the Empire State Building. The building is very clean and well maintained, although one of the elevators was out of service during my stay - no big deal. I noticed that two of the floors were being refurbished so it should be getting even... More

Hotel is very nice. Restaurant is overpriced and the food is way below average. The manager Alex is way too arrogant and thinks he is doing you a favor for this very mediocre restaurant. Prices for this New York City eaterie is outragious when one can venture just down the block and go to a very fine resataurant named Keen's... More

While this place was fairly expensive (although not for NYC), we paid $185 on a Thursday night, it was perfect. It was raining so the bar on the roof was not in use, but that was OK, we went up there anyway to look at the view. The ceiling was sort of strange, but overall the place was lovely and... More

I stayed here for three nights at the end of August 2006. I was traveling by myself so I wanted a hotel that felt safe and was clean and I was not dissapointed. The hotel is in a great location, about 5 minutes walk from Penn station, 1 block from Macys and 5 mins from times square. I was checked... More

My daughter, upon turning 21, wanted to go to NYC to celebrate her new adulthood! I researched through TripAdvisor and decided on Hotel Metro. I was a little afraid that it could not live up to it's wonderful reviews but I am here to tell you that we LOVED the hotel. It is in a great location. Right down from... More

Using TripAdvisor again for recommendations in an unfamiliar city, I was more than pleasantly surprised. We were on the 11th floor overlooking 35th Street and looked out of our window to be confronted by the Empire State Building in all its glory, awesome! The hotel is clean, very reasonably priced and superbly located, staff are friendly, breakfast sets you up... More

My husband and I enjoyed a week at this great little hotel in mid July. We found it to be extremely well situated, our room was clean, comfortable and quiet. As far as its location is concerned, well it was ideal, being so close to a subway and to Macy's. The breakfasts were delightful and more than adequate, the breakfast... More

I spent 5 nights in July with my wife and 4 friends at the Metro and thoroughly recommend it. The location could not be better, in the shadow of the ESB with Macys and subway round the corner, Times Sq. & 5th Av. within walking distance. The refurbished rooms are very clean and nicely decorated, a little on the small... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
