If you are in NY por pleasure, then you can try this hotel. It isn't great, not even close to it. Rooms are very small. Hot water not always is there when you want it, sometimes you burn yourself. AC not very modern. That said, if you're in the city to enjoy what it has to offer you, you only... More

We stayed at the Gershwin for 5 nights in June 2013. The hotel was quite unique. The rooms were neat and very clean. I enjoyed the simplicity of it all. It was a great location for exploring and shopping. The staff was friendly, and very helpful. They let us have an early check in. I would say the only downside... More

I took my wife and step-daughters to NYC (my daughter's first time in NYC). Had a wonderful time. The hotel was great and the coffee bar downstairs (Birch cafe) was awesome. Service was great and the bed's were very comfortable. The only down side was there was only one a/c in the family suite and the girls almost froze themselves...but... More

Stayed in a standard double room on 5 th floor, facing the street. Although tiny, the room was ok, ear plugs a must since windows are old and not insulated. Room service ok, bathroom smallish. Overall, a great place for touring the city, major sights in midtown within walking distance, in-house Birch Café a cool place to get started in... More

We arrived for our 5 night stay last Sunday afternoon, and from the start the staff were super friendly, polite and couldn't do enough for you. We enjoyed a beer in the Birch cafe joining the reception which had a great vibe, and the next day enjoyed lunch there which was very tasty. We had a superior queen room, which... More

we stayed at the Gershwin in June 2013. It was a neat hotel. Kind of made me feel like I was staying in a New York apartment. The staff were friendly and the bed was super comfortable. The only downside was the temperamental shower. I could not predict the temperature of the water. You'd start off at the level you... More

We stayed at the Gershwin Hotel for 5 nights. The main reason we choose this hotel was the price, being 1/2 the price of virtually every other hotel we could find for the same dates. As other reviewers have advised the rooms are very small, and very outdated. They are in desperate need of a refurb, however they are clean... More

Located in the heart of Manhattan, staff is friendly, but that is only this. 1 lift but it is correct and you will never wait more than 2 minutes. I was in a superior room (street side without any sound proof), the size was correct regarding what you can have in other downtown hotels. It was clean but they did... More

I statyed at the gershwin for 3 nights. The rooms are neat and clean ( no smells ) and simply furnished. The tiles and doors are quite oldish but I was glad that it was clean. On the upside the location is great a couple of blocks to landmarks and stations on both the sides. Empire State, Madison Sqare Park,... More
