The Evelyn Hotel has a great location. The lobby is dark, the room small, but extremely functional, high floor has good sound proofing, plenty of hot water for the shower,2 new Apple computers with a printer, great help and very accommodating. The one real drawback was that only 1 elevator was working while a new one was being added. Certain times... More

I stayed at their Everlyn for around 5 days, it was just an ok stay. Not a great hotel for business travellers, WI-FI was intermittant, lobby was rubbish to meet up in, no bar or even a cafe. The staff were great and it does seem they are building something new to the hotel, restaurant maybe. The location was great... More

Hotel was lovely, but they took payment a day in advance of my arrival ($1300), which was fine, although the booking confirmation said "one night will be charged at least 3 days in advance of arrival". I therefore did not feel the need to check my account. When I arrived to check-in they took my card and charged $1300 for... More

Hotel is under remodeling, only one elevator, long quehues, lots of people arround. Suite is large to be in Manhattan, but I'll probably try another hotel un my next stay in NYC. Not all the staff is kind, they not seem to be too interested in the guest experience.

I stayed at the Evelyn with some friends over a long weekend in early May. The hotel appeared still under renovation in the lobby area and the exterior but the rooms are totally updated, with a nice vintage décor, beautiful Frette bed linens and a small but neat bathroom. Apart from the cleanliness and friendliness of the staff, I found... More

This is a quaint little hotel with a very noticeable 1920s vibe to it. The location is excellent, very close to a lot of the sights and also to the subway. The hotel has undergone renovations and some are still in progress, but they didn't affect our visit at all. On the contrary, I found the hotel pretty quiet. Not... More

The hotel staff could not have been more welcoming and helpful. The hotel is undergoing renovations at present but our smart,newly-refurbished room and en-suite on the seventh floor were clean, comfortable and surprisingly quiet after days on the New York streets. The Evelyn offers a complimentary walking tour which I would thoroughly recommend if new to the area. Our guide... More

This is a great place to stay in New York. The staff is incredible, especially Dinet, who helped us with an upgrade in the most friendly, accomodating way, and with all the other endless questions we had. The rooms are beautiful with very comfortable beds. The lobby and elevators are under construction, but that's why the hotel is affordable. Lots... More

The rooms, recently renovated, were beautiful! the bed was most comfortable, and the bathroom fixtures/shower were upscale...nicely done. Location is close to subway for midtown and downtown activities. The staff was very friendly and helpful, as we had to store bags upon arrival and departure.

The hotel was very different from when I stayed there many years ago when it was The Gershwin and full of Pop Art. Friendly, helpful staff. Lovely coffee and little pastries for breakfast even though was not formally provided. Room was very elegant in decor and very clean but small, especially with a cot for our baby. I loved the...
