Small room, however very clean (room made-up, fresh towels & toiletries every day). There was no air-con, so it was pretty warm in the room, despite it being quite nippy outside. Some great places to eat nearby, the sunflower cafe was great for breakfast and much cheaper than the hotel too! Would recommend as a good launch pad for a... more

I stayed at the Marcel in mid-June for 3 nights with my two daughters - both in their 20's. We had to make a choice between the Marcel and the Rogers Smith, both of which I received a great deal on. Seeing how "hip" the Marcel seemed to be, I chose it because I thought my girls would enjoy it.... more

I stayed at The Marcel at Gramercy for 5 nights and overall I was very happy with the stay. The bed was great, it was a King and was extremely comfortable (pillow top). The room and hotel are very trendy looking. The bathroom was very nice - the shower has two nozzels and the pressure was great. The location is... more

We stayed a few nights at the Marcel in March. I had been deciding between it and the Bentley and randomly settled on the Marcel. We were supposed to have come in from DC the day before but the snowstorm cancelled the buses and trains so we could only travel up to NY the next day. I contacted the Marcel... more

My friend and I stayed for 3 nights, June 11 to 14, and we loved it! Cool decor, clean, centrally located. The room was way bigger than we thought it would be, given the previous reviews. We were two girls with thousands of shoes and outfits to choose from so the extra space was greatly appreciated! We were on the... more

Based on the reviews here, I was concerned coming in at midnight. With my flight delayed by 3 hours, we checked in at 3am. Perhaps a tip from a reviewer here helped me, 'coz I called ahead and asked them to reserve a king-bed room for me; which they had. Not sure if they did this, or they were just... more

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Marcel. We were greeted by Daniel, the doorman, who really went out of his way to be helpful with parking and restaurant choices. Check in went well, however, we got 2 double beds instead of the king we requested. The value of the hotel is excellent. The best rates seem to be if... more

Once I arrived at the hotel I was greeted by a doorman. The front desk person was very friendly. The lobby decor is modern and sets the over all theme of the hotel. The hallways to the rooms are a maze, which keeps the noise to a minimum. The rooms are typical NYC small but are decorated really well. There's... more

I really love this hotel! The service is great, the bar downstairs is also rather convenient. My New York office is quite close to here, and the value can't be beat. While I know there are a few tiny rooms, I have been given a larger room on both of my stays and was quite comfortable. I would highly recommend... more

This hotel characterizes itself as a boutique hotel in mid town. The location is excellent and the rooms are on the small side, but pass-able size-wise. However, rooms only have single pane windows and if you happen to be on the side of the hotel facing the street, you will be up all night listening to the sounds of the... more
