WJH was a great experience for my Husband and I. We booked online with a special I think it was 30% off so sign up to their emails and you will get notified of any deals coming up. WJH is in the heart of midtown/theatre district and we walked home every night a few blocks from watching a Broadway show.... More

Friendly Service. Clean rooms. Enjoy the comforts of home. Very accommodating employees willing to help with every need. Excellent location to restaurants, theatres, Times Square and local culture. An excellent value - great boutique hotel.

Great value and a very nice property and location. Excellent staff experience throughout, top to bottom. Lacking some amenities typically found (i.e. ice machines per floor, fridge) in some comparable lodging but I never found that to be an issue during my stay. WIFI was always reliable as well. The only issue encountered was the hot water supply in the... More

The Washington Jefferson was a wonderful place to stay. We were close to everything we wanted to do in the city! It was a warm and welcoming place to come back to after a cold and snowy day in New York. We had an extremely comfortable stay and would love to come again.

Awful hotel! No elevator working on arrival so we had to walk up 3 flights of stairs with our luggage. Before going to bed we asked the front desk where we could get some water. We were told there is NONE in the hotel. Not even a vending machine! We walked to the store at midnight to get some waters!... More

Close to metro, Laundromat and Broadway. Room was small, but for the price, I felt I got what I paid for. Bed was comfortable, rooms clean and bathroom adequate. Nice to have a hairdryer in the room. If you need space this may not be suitable. But if you spend most of your time out and only sleep in the... More

The hotel is well located. We upgraded to a room with 2 queen beds and it was a fairly good size. We saw a room with just one bed and it looked very small! Staff was always friendly and willing to help. Room was very quite for sleeping however a bit hot and we had trouble adjusting that.

I am in NY on business for my nonprofit regularly. The WJ is my home away from home. The staff - particularly at the front desk and door are excellent. The hotel is very convenient to my business in the theatre district yet on a quiet street with several very good restaurants within a block.

Centrally located in Hell's Kitchen, you can walk to anywhere Columbus Circle, 5th Ave shops or catch the Metro to the Financial District. Service is great and there are restaurants everywhere. Room sizes remind of Paris but, they are still nice. We love this hotel and go back again and again!

This hotel is ideal for those planning to spend significant time seeing shows in the Broadway/Times Square/theater district. It's clean, quiet, comfortable; staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are tiny but impeccably clean and cozy. Restaurants/eateries in the area offer something for all tastes and budgets. Subway stops are near. It's not cheap, but nothing in NY is. Book early... Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
