We have stayed at Washington Jefferson many times and keep returning. The hotel reminds us of European places, especially with the eclectic staff. The rooms are small, so we usually book up a size from what we might do at an American chain. However, the rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, and everything is very clean. The location is... It is very conveniently located, next to the subway and many bars, shops and restaurants. You are just a walk away from Times Square! The rooms have everything you need, they are clean, with comfortable beds, shower room with all the necessary toiletries and the service at reception is very efficient. The corridors need a bit of refurbishing but the... More

The hotel is small and as expected, the rooms are too. Apart from the size & the heating being on permanently, making it too warm at times (Only solution seemed to be to open the window), it was clean & tidy. There's a safe, iron/ironing board, laundry service and daily room turn down. Front desk were able to help with... More

I stayed mid-January at the Washington Jefferson Hotel, not knowing much about NYC. Picked this one from several hotels I found on-line for three reasons: its convenient location to many places I needed to be and because it was reasonably priced, and had FREE wi-fi (many of the other small hotels I checked charged a lot for the wifi.) The... More

It was a good stay overall. Travelling as a party of 2, at first we were assigned a room in the renovated wing. We deemed it was small and asked for a change to get a room with a desk. We were then transferred to the non-renovated wing of the hotel, but we got a room that was renovated. The... More

This hotel exceeded my expectations. The room was larger than I expected and very clean. The bathroom was good except there was no room between the toilet and wall. I was grateful that I didn't have long legs. The front desk was very helpful in helping me navigate through the city and finding local places to eat. The location was... More

Great location, super friendly staff. I would go back in a heartbeat. I booked it based on TripAdvisor's reviews and was not disappointed. We even asked the staff for activities to do at night and they gave great recommendations.

Just a quick overnight for my husband and I to see a show and have dinner, and no hassle in and out of the city! The WJ was a great choice, clean friendly and accommodating. Great location. I would come back!

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
