Staff was courteous. Check in completed before 3pm and luggage was held for us while we began our vacation. Clerk offered maps of the area. The room itself was clean and attractive. Mattress was not the most comfortable but the pillows and blankets were nice. Nice bathroom with deep jetted tub and soft thick towels. The location suited us well... More

I read the reviews of this hotel before I stayed and was a little concerned as you do generally only remember the negative ones, however, I experienced nothing negative at all. Yes, the room was small, but that was to be expected of NYC, it was clean, quiet and just what was needed. The hotel staff were friendly, gave assistance... More

I've stayed in NYC many times and usually as a solo traveller. The things are look for are: location (close to subway or what I want to see), free in room wifi and of course price. The Washington Jefferson seemed to meet all of these when I booked so I really crossed my fingers when I arrived. It did not... More

The location is great, a few minutes from the principal attractions, like Times Square and Central Park. Our room was spacious and comfortable, but sometimes you can hear very clear what is happening in the Hotel corridors. This hotel is located in the Hells Kitchen area, so there are many nice and not expensive restaurants located in a walking distance.

We needed quick accommodation for three nights and the Washington jefferson was happy to oblige. The staff were amazing with all assistance given . We had a lot of luggage which they held for us until checkin which made our stay in New York much easier. Thank you Washington jefferson staff we couldn't have asked for better service.

The standard room is very small, but it is new york, so it is to be expected. For a hotel in new york this is a bargain. My only complaint is that the mattress was hard but other than that, really good.

We stayed at the WJ for 4 nights. This was our first time at this hotel about our 15th visit to NYC. We selected the WJ for its great location in relation to the Theater District and to Piers 92 and 94. The main purpose of our trip was to attend the Westminster Dog Show. The preliminary rounds of the... More

I did have a pleasant stay however I accidently left a wallet with £300 inside. I called and asked if they had found it and explained it was inside a bag however they explained the bag would probably be thrown out and they were sorry I'm very disappointed I'm afraid to say. I have since emailed twice and no reply

Small and compact rooms. Perfect if you don't plan on hanging out in your room all day. It's NYC, there is so much to do! Bed was firm, very firm. Good location for Hells Kitchen, theaters nearby, subway on the corner.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
